Head stuck in sand

If you got your head stuck in sand, and the sand was on fire, Would you risk being burnt alive by tying to dig yourself out? Or would you cut off your head for a quick escape, but you'd live the rest of your life headless?

That is a perfectly normal reaction considering your head is stuck in burning sand. But try to stay calm, someone will dig you up once the sand has cooled down.

I'd cut my head. It's not like I'm using it anyway and I can come back for it later.

Nope, only cook slowly under the searing sand. Then you could marinate it for 2 hours in virgin oil and rosemary. Serve with cooked spuds.

Guess this means you ain't a vegetarian or vegan then - but is one a cannibal if one eats one's own head ..... assuming you find a mouth, or other oriface to chew the gristly bits ......

Wouldn't you be burnt alive anyway in the time it would take to cut off your head?

Of course it that real world where sand doesn't burn although if the sand isn't burning then what have you got to worry about?

Congratulations! You're mad and random enough to survive on NS General for more than a week. :)

I...

But...

Um...

Anyways, now that that's out of the way, you wouldn't be living the rest of your life without a head, you'd be living the rest of your life without a body. If you aimed well, maybe you could use your corpse to smother the flames, and then use your tounge to drag yourself the a life support system.

Wouldn't it be better in the first place to just not stick your head in burning sand? Than you don't face the embarassment of squiritng blood everywhere and being forced to wipe it up.

I'm not so foolish as to take such a risk. That's why I wear an asbestos sock on my head.

How would one cut their own head off? Wouldn't you pass out from blood loss long before you actually got all the way through?

The REST OF YOUR LIFE headless is probably about 2-3 seconds, then you would cease to exist. So I would try and dig myself out, even though sand doesn't catch fire.

Your head will be trapped in glass instead so you can just break the glass and free yourself!

Hey, here in NS some people have unfeasibly HUGE ships before 2020, so why can't we have some damn burning sand?!

Typically, my head knows what it's doing. I give it abot a 65% correctness rate. Sometimes, of course, it has me strip naked, plunge into mud, visit a friend and chase him around his living room trying to tackle him. What do you want? It's just a head. Can't have the 98% correctness rate my penis has. Now there's an organ that is always on the ball! :D

But more often than not, my head has good ideas. So I'd probably follow me head's example and bury the rest of myself in the sand until the fire burned itself out. Then I'd dig myself out.

Um...If I can get through the glass layer. Ah, shit. It's always something! :(

I would choose going the rest of my life headless, however it would make certain activites like eating, hearing, seeing, and smelling quite difficult.

...And also thinking. Truth is this thread presents a difficult conundrum: Life without a head or life suffering with severe burns which might hurt a bit (the kind of hurt that wakes you up in the middle of the night so you have to go get a glass of water, problem is because your so burnt you'd pour the water all over yourself and never drink it, eventually dying of thirst)?

But the truth is, I think that at some point in all of our lives we have faced this question, maybe not literally, but definitely in some form or other.

Glad your all enjoying the thread though. I have posted others but they sometimes get deleted for some reason...

Obviously you have to adapt your lungs and metabolism to get rid of all that nasty oxygen but my point still stands..
