Hey to any Brits in here

I was driving home from Bristol today and i was flashed by one of these cameras, but i was heading the wrong way (The Camera's with the lines painted on the road that are supposed to catch you from behind) it flashed me from the front, Nearly blinded me..

Does anyone know if I will get a speeding Ticket from being flashed from the front? or is this just an error that sometimes happens?

Thanks in advance

Thanks in advanceDon't know whether you ought to expect a letter requesting your licence/money, but there are cameras round my way that face you (to catch a picture of your face, and thus prevent the "It wasn't me" defence), though I was given to understand that they were infrared flashes, or some other means that did not risk blinding the driver. These, naturally enough, are on your side of the road and facing towards you (i.e. standing at the curb, looking over the road, faces right).

Reading between the lines, though, you seem to be talking about a camera on the other side of the road (i.e. facing left from the kerb, to catch the rear of the retreating speeding car), and I would have expected that (barring anything travelling in the opposite direction activating the darned thing) there would have been no reason for the electronics to have activated, after all, the trigger (of a "back of the car" camera) would have been a certain limit lower than the frequency of the pre-dopplered original 'radar', and an approaching car (such as yours) would have increased said return signal frequency. (Or, if my sanity check has completely failed, vice-versa, but you get the idea. There'd be no reason to instutite two thresholds for a fixed-use device.)

Im not entirely sure on the technology Used, but i know from reading the Gov site that yes it was on the Far side curb facing down the road to catch people driving past them and picture from Behind, The flash went off (which was very very bright btw) as i was just passing it on the opposite side of the road, it did flash twice which means it did take a picture, but i was fairly certain they couldn't legally do this from the other side.
