Getting rid of old scars

I've been looking for a way to get rid of old scars mainly on my face, however, the only viable option is more surgery. Does anyone have any ideas on removing old scars?

Laser and/or acid skin resurfacing.

 That sounds painful.

You'd probably get the best answer from a specialist consultation with your doctor.

Hmm, you got my attention, tell me more.

Surely you'd just be replacing the scar with a different, slightly more aesthetic scar?

Given this was two-face from the Batman Forever movie (which had Val Kilmer, by far the best Batman) but he painted half of his face bright pinkish-red, and you could still see the scars clear as day. This definitely DID NOT work... Hope this narrows the options a bit...

Yea, but if I ask on here, it's free! :p

I forgot abrasion. No pain, no gain.

Eh I'm just tired of looking at this one scar, being reminded that a doctor chose to do an entire operation from one x-ray. It's about vanity, I know, and I don't really care. I just want the scar to be gone.

Scars give character. Plus, they can be used for identification if the mafia cuts off your hands and rips out all your teeth.

Well, what you do is burn/peel/remove the surface layers of the skin and thus stimulate it to grow to replace what you've removed. You repeat this and eventually the scars get paler, and in some cases "grow" away. Works best with scars that are not too pigmented or deep/raised. What sort are we talking about here - acne scars or knife scars?

We're talking about acne scars and scars created by a blotched surgery. So I guess knife scar.

theres always facial tattoos to cover the scars and make them less noticible...

You're lucky. I don't scar.

Except on my head. I have one that bisects my right eyebrow and a tiny one in the corner of one eye.

That's all. I have no other scars. Anywhere. And believe me, I have done plenty of scar-worthy activities. Hell, even surgery doesn't leave scars on me!

Lucky bastard!
I have a huge one on my forehead shaped like the Mercedes sign without the circle around it. Edges of tables and heads don't go well together.

Well, you might be able to bleach it, but get rid of it? Don't hope for too much. You should talk to a plastic surgeon and see what they can do.

Tell the ladies you wanted your forehead to match the front of your car. ;)
