...or for those who are waiting for your copy with baited breath. What is the first business you will start?

Since I've not yet gotten the expansion, the answer is a resounding I Don't Know Yet.

I tend to RTFM before jumping in.

None, because I don't have the money to blow on another $40 expansion. The Sims is such a scam.

I do not like The Sims. I've played it and I just don't get the allure, but, then again, so say many about such games as Final Fantasy or Shadow Hearts...

I have enough trouble taking care of my own life, thank you very much. I'm not going to deal with some Sim. Give me an empire!

The first one was cute but it got stale after a while.

Just bought Black for the X Box, looks pretty good. *eagerly awaiting the next FF or Kingdom Hearts sequel*

Tried Shadow Hearts - Covenant? It soothed my FF and KH withdrawal quite well for a while.

I didn't get what the whole deal with the Sims was, then I got the Sims2 DVD and I can say it's pretty darn fun to look at the little people going about their business and leaving them in closed rooms with no way out and such. I also like to make houses.

So, yeah, EA's got me hooked.

The thing about the sims is that it is a sandbox game, and so will be called a bad game by a great many people who just don't like sandbox games. Spore is currently getting the same treatment, where Black&White took it from both sides because it couldn't choose which to be.

Never heard of it, I'll go look it up because I haven't played a good rpg in a while. I miss Valkyrie Profile. *sob*

I will get it if I have the cash more to the point when I regain the will to revise so I stop spending all my cash on nights out

My problem isn't with sandbox games. I loved Sim City. But the fact that they release expansion after expansion after expansion is insulting. It's as if they sold me an incomplete game just to make more money off of me.

IGN has a good review with videos and pics here. (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/550/550474p1.html) It's a year old, so I bought it on discount. It was worth every öre.

I don't know why everybody is complaining about the money. I have all the Sims 2 expansions and I haven't spent a dime. Is nobody out there a 133t h4x0r?

I agree. I bought the Sims when it came out and enjoyed it for a bit (though I was sick of it after a couple of weeks), but I waited until last year when all the expansions were out before getting them.

Sadly, they were all crap anyway. I feel sorry for the poor fools who were sucked in.

I like the Sims. Is there something really wrong with it? I don't get much time to play it, but when there's a rainy day, then there's nothing better than forgetting about your world, and getting absorbed in somebody elses. Actually I don't 'play' it much. I prefer building houses, or in this case, shops. Something about the living part reminds me too much of a soap opera.

I quite like the expansion packs thus far, actually. My boyfriend is installing the Open for Business EP on the other computer as I type, so we'll hopefully be playing it soon. I think I'll probably open a bookshop first, but would like to open a rock bar or casino or something when I get used to playing it.

Oh yeah, I forgot casino. There's so many options!

As for you haters, did you notice that the post said it was "for Sims 2: Open For Business Players" or those looking forward to getting it? I don't comment on your posts that are about things I don't care for or don't understand. I'm sure that would annoy the heck out of you.

Does it really bother you that much?

I did a nightclub because I already had one built from Nightlife, and all I had to do was add the pay per visit thing.

Or you all could just come play second life, http://secondlife.com (http://secondlife.com/join/). True 3D world, creation of objects using primative shapes instead of by schematics provided by the creators, player imported graphics, sounds, poser animations, and on top of that, you get to script your creations behavior.

100% of the content is created by the participants of secondlife. Linden labs(the creators) grants you control of your in game intellectual properties; indeed, some people make a living at playing, such as the guy that created tringo...http://wireless.joystiq.com/2005/03/04/tringo-heads-to-the-real-world/.

Some aspects of it gets pretty Political, so I think NSers will enjoy it. The basic game is free to play. The only thing the premium game adds to content is is the right to own land, and thats 10 dollars to start(with server fees based on area owned).

If you wish to pop in and check it out, look me up, and i will give you a guided tour. My Characters name is Tai Ming(it all comes down to Tai Ming), and you may sign up here...http://secondlife.com/join/

Oh, and those under 18 are not permitted to play by the TOS

My boyfriend is really into SL, but I'm not a huge fan myself. In order to do anything with it, you've got to have quite a bit of money which requires sitting on a chair all day doing sod all, or paying with RL cash. Having said that, I suppose I could invest it in that rather than forking out £20 a go for the Sims expansion packs! The other thing, however, that irritates me is random people trying to converse with you; I'd rather be left alone.

I'm actually playing one of the Sim-generated people in Open For Business at the minute, running a little florist's shop. Once I get the hang of it from this, I'll get one of my main characters to set up the bookshop or casino. I'm enjoying it so far, I must say.

Not At all! Anyone with a knack for drawing or programming, or sculpting can keep themsselves awash with cash. Personally, I hate those damned camping chairs.

We held an ice sculpture contest on our land and gave away about 40 US dollars in prize money. It was great fun, and the traffic/dwell cash we got filled our own pockets!

Looks interesting, but the under 18/over 18 spit is irritating.
