What songs make you cry?

I'm posting this because yesterday my boyfriend was going through his record collection and found a Rolf Harris record *this is where I start hanging my head in shame*. He put it on for a laugh and when the song Two Little Boys came on I cried. I've always done this, and I can't really explain why. Needless to say he found it really funny.

So what songs make you cry? (The stupider the better...make me feel a lil better about myself :p)

the one where the mother is praying by the bedside of her dying child and she asks god to hold her little girls hand when she crosses the streets of heaven because she only 7 years old and cant cross by herself chokes me up just thinking about it.

Johnny Cash's Hurt
Seconded, but only if I also see the video.

Also, The Drugs Don't Work by The Verve:

All this talk of getting old
It's getting me down my love
Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown
This time I'm coming down

And I hope you're thinking of me
As you lay down on your side
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again

But I know I'm on a losing streak
As I passed down my old street
And if you wanna show, then just let me know
And I'll sing in your ear again

Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again

'Cause baby, ooh, if heaven calls, I'm coming, too
Just like you said, you leave my life, I'm better off dead

Ive never cried listening to any song except beethovens moonlight sonata when I was 4. Hurt by NIN (the original and best version imo) is quite affecting but not tear inducing.

There aren't any songs that make me cry no matter what, but there are a few which have caused a few tears to well up and run down my cheeks, depending on my mood/how immersed in the music I am. These songs are: Eclipse by Pink Floyd, Eternal Glory by Rhapsody, Serenade by Kamelot, and A Question of Heaven by Iced Earth. (I may be forgetting one or two) There are several more that have made me feel similarly, but I've never cried while listening to them.

"Too Much Love Will Kill You"-Queen. It's the only song that makes me cry everytime i hear it, but there are plenty of others (too many to list) that get me, depending on my mood. Even if a song doesn't necessarily make me cry, it still might make me sad, or wistful, or something. Art strikes me deep.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've cried to two songs: Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley (because it's such a beautiful song) and the Acoustic version of Creep by Radiohead (because it really stikes a chord with me, exactly fitting with who I am).

Only women may cry because of a song, and then it is still annoying.

Any man who cries during a song has my immediate loathing.

In fact, any man who cries under any other circumstance besides maybe his impending death or because of great pain, has my immediate loathing.

Wish You Were Here just makes me think of alot of people who are gone, and more importantly, people who are still here and all that rot...
I don't always cry, but if I'm having a really bad day and just get really into it, then yeah...I'll shed a few tears...

Acoustic version of Creep by Radiohead (because it really stikes a chord with me, exactly fitting with who I am).ha...weird...I had that song on while I read your post because of a shitty night...strikes a chord here too, bud.

Actually, the Buzzcocks did "Ever Fallen In Love". The Undertones did the brilliant "Teenage Kicks".

The Undertones... The best Irish Pop-Punk ever.

Someone said "Ode to Joy" earlier- that brought a tear to my eye when my son played it on the piano. As does "Fur Elise".

"Ave Maria" sung by a woman.

And, a line from Pearl Jam has gotten me choked up in the past-

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be the sun,
in somebody else's sky

Why, why cant it be
cant it be mine? "

It had such impact when it came out, on a current situation at the time, its a mix of bitter desperation that I cant still taste when I hear it.

I havent heard it since i was a child, but i recall that Burton Cummings song "break it to them gently" got me choked up.

Artist: Burton Cummings
Song: Break It To Them Gently
Album: Collection

Break it to them gently when you tell my Mom and Dad
When you see my baby sister be as kind as you can
And break it to my Grandma, who said "That boy's wild and bad"
Break it to them gently when you tell them that I won't be coming home again

Cause I'm running with a gun and it isn't any fun as a fugitive
Fightin for my life and I don't know if I'll make it alone
Running with a gun and it isn't any fun as a fugitive
God I wanna go home
Lord I wish I was home

When you see my lady with the twinkle in her eyes
Tell it to her softly and hold her if she cries
Tell her that I love her and I will til the day I die
Break it to her gently when you tell her that I won't be coming home again

I got in too deep with strangers
Thinking they could help me find my way
But nobody warned me of the dangers
And it's always the young and foolish that have to pay

So break it to them gently when you tell my Mom and Dad
Thank them for the good years and all the lovin that I had
And break it to my Grandma, who said "the boy is wild and bad"
Break it to them gently when you tell 'em that I won't be comin home again

I got in too deep with strangers
Thinking they could help me find my way
But nobody warned me of the dangers
And it's always the young and foolish that have to pay)

You gotta break it to them gently
Gotta really try to roll 'em
Gotta break it to them gently
Gotta really try to soothe them
Gotta really try to roll 'em
You gotta roll it to my Mother
Gotta roll it to my Grandma
Gotta roll the old lady
Roll it to my Grandma, she's damn near eighty
Roll the old lady
