The American justice system is the best in the world, like Sheriff Arpaio said.

In the UK we need a lot more jails. All of the drunken and violent chav scum with no civilised values should be put in jail where they belong and they should be kept there. They should be kept off the streets so that they don't cause havoc and scare away all of the tourists. Enough of this blaming violence on alcohol, poverty and boredom. God gave people the free will to disipline themselves and take responsibilty, and so those who commit the abominable sin of attaking his fellow man ought to face God's wraith and therefore should be punished in a proper and decisive manner.

Meh, keeping them in Prison is costly. I say just take the army down to the council estates once every few years and have a cull. That should keep their numbers down. They breed like rabbits, at least compared to honnest Marketing, HR, Accounting and PR departments of our country's noble corporations.

Unfortunatly, people aren't born with the helpful label "I am going to commit a crime" on their head, and so it's hard to see how lots of jails are going to prevent many offences. A strong deterrent is useless on it's own; it's no good telling someone they face 30 years in prison if the chances of them actually being caught are close to zero. You need fair justice and effective policing together. One on its own will solve nothing.

IIRC there is a verse in the Bible which says something along the lines of: "all sins shall be forgiven them, save for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit". In other words you've now guaranteed yourself a place in hell by attempting to usurp God's authority. Congratulations. :)
