As a sequel to the thread about popcorn (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=466879) in a debate between me and Huw about food, I now have been asked to find out whether eating Brie in sandwiches is normal.

Personally, I think Brie on salty crackers is bizarre. But apparantly having Brie in my roll is "just wrong".

So - opinions please!

Beyond that it's a bit odd.

Cheese on things is always good. Brie looks moldy. I'm not a fan of mold. Anywhere really.

Brie, Bacon, and Cranberry is much better. It's one of those things you have to try before you believe it.

Brie... has to be tasted to belived. I recently tried a brie sandwich (in a bout of alcohol induced insanity), and it wasn't pleasant. Brie and Strongbow DO NOT MIX. This particular cheese had spent all winter on a window ledge - to improve the flavour, the Frenchman said.

Is Brie the Englishman's haggis? If so, I will certainly oblige and give it a taste. It sounds as if it was pleasant. I'm actually not that much of a "modly cheese"-phobe. I try them, eat it until I get a tummy ache, then move back to the normal stuff.

Yep, Brie is definitely worth trying. (just maybe not after 6 pints, when you've forgotten how strong it can be)

Note to self: try French Brie. I'll premptively vote that I like it on things. Mmm...

Bacon and brie paninis are one of the best things you will ever eat!! but also brie on everything else is fine, hell on its own it is nice! :D

But please explain to uninitiated me what the hell the difference is between "in sandwiches" and "on bread"? :confused:

Yes, having Brie on sandwiches is odd. On crackers is fine, and with plain bread would be fine but when you start adding meat and condiments it gets a bit odd.

Although, I love Brie on plain French/Italian bread.

Anything in a sandwich is not weird, provided it is edible and not visibly moving. I certainly can't see brie in a sandwich as being weird.

By that logic my bloody computer is doing jumping jacks every night while I'm asleep. (Yes I know you were referring to bacterial cultures!)

Brie and grape/bacon is tasty, but I prefer it on cackers myself.

Brie stinks. Especially after you leave it out for a few years. ;)

Seriously however, I strongly dislike brie on anything. However, it's better on crackers than on bread, IMNSHO. With black pepper and balsamic vinegar. /nodnod/
