I didn't realize the Canadians had to travel all the way to San Francisco to find seals. Although I must say, I support whatever means are used to rid the world of this awful sport.

Anyhow, it is almost seal hunt time. Any words of encouragement for our friends in the Great White North? I believe these are the actual seals that are being hunted.

We should gather an army of animal rights extremists, buy seal costumes, get our hands on a supply of AK47's, and defend our Pinniped friends.

Sweet, time to get my club ready. And my Grandma, I've been looking to ditch her on an icedrift.:p

So can anyone go to Canada and club a seal? Do you need some kind of license?

I saw a picture of Paul and Whatsername McCartney protesting, lying on the ice next to a white-coat. It really doesn't help their cause when they pull stuff like that (the hunting of pups was banned like 20 years ago). I'm inclined to support the seal hunt, just because the people who oppose it suck so much.

Come on, this is the country that is referred to as Taxanada by all the expatriates I know. Of course there will be a license required, how else can they pay for that fancy welfare system. In fact, there's probably a special seal stamp required for the license.

While all this is true, most people prefer to kill their seals, then tell the Police/Government, "I just didn't feel like getting a license."

I didn't see where the DFO would issue "licences" to non-residents. Guess DC and I are out of luck.

DC, how about going to SFO and clubbing those Seals?

I strongly support increasing the quotas and more than halving the harp seal population over the next few hunts.

I don't know. These Seals look ready to me. I wouldn't want to hunt them.
