Well peeps, my sister sent me a $100 eBay gift certificate for my birthday, and I just splurged on some really cool stuff.
"2112" by Rush
"A Farewell To Kings" by Rush
"Hemispheres" by Rush
"Moving Pictures" by Rush
"Warehouse: Songs And Stores" by Husker Du
And a pre-amp so I can listen to the records on my computer (and rip them so I won't wear out the vinyl). On top of that, my dad's buying me a turntable from the local pawn shop (excellent condition; $30).
Not too bad, eh?

Whoa what a coincidence, just yesterday, my friend told me about USB turntables. Sadly, I checked ebay and could not find any, but apparently they exist.
And I see that someone is a rush fan :D

USB turntables, eh? Never heard of them, but I'll look into them (I'm on a budget, though, so the excellent Sony turntable from the pawn shop will do).
And you're damn right I'm a Rush fan. All five albums would've been Rush albums, if I could've found a decent pressing of "Fly By Night" that wasn't overpriced.
I'd have downloaded the albums for free and spent the $100 on something else.

Actually, I kind of find it boring now.

Then you haven't seen a good variety of it. Being tired of porn is like being tired of money. It can't happen.

Oh, I've seen plenty...
...Rush are just far more entertaining. So are Husker Du, for that matter. :D

Heh. You can get the bit rate at 320kbps with mp3's, which is extremely close to CD quality. No detectable difference, not using human ears. Enjoy the unnoticeable 'superiority' of your records.

It's very noticeable. I have a lot of vinyl rips on this laptop that I've compared with my CD rips (which are at higher bitrates).
Even at 192kbps, the vinyl rips have much better sound quality than the 320kbps CD rips. Husker Du's "Zen Arcade" is a prime example; the Sex Pistols' "Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols" is the best example.
At 192kbps WMA, it sounds far better than a WMA Lossless CD rip (even a remaster). The sound is richer, the tone is infinitely better (Steve Jones' Les Paul can only be fully appreciated on the vinyl master), and the bass is rumbly and deep, whereas the bass on the CD version is almost non-existent.
I could go on, as I have more vinyl rips I could talk about. :D
