If so, what do you invest in? Any particular markets? Derivatives? Options? Equities?

I buy mostly energy stocks but also play with options because of the massive reward ratios on options. I put about 30% into options and the rest into equities. That's a lot of risk, but I've done well so far and have a pretty good record of being able to grab profits before the drops.

Yeah, mine's pretty big, too, but this is about investing. ;)

Stocks, particularly tech and telecoms with an occasional foray in to Internet for quick profit opportunities. I'm up 27% since August of 2005, although my gains have stalled at that level recently due to the particularly poor performance of the semis and the overall malaise in the tech sector since February.

I sometimes gamble with energy as well, but given the overall supply situation going in to the spring it seems downward pressure on their price is going to be the norm.

My two best plays have been Qwest (bought at $3.80 or so in September, currently at $6.47) and AMD (bought at $23 and sold in February when it stalled in the low 40's).

My worst has to be Valero; bought at $59.80 only to see it plunge almost $9 from where I bought it.

Well, I have a few shares in three German companies, but they are blue chips and I'm leaving them until I really need the money, or to start me up once I leave uni.

Apart from several individual stocks that are about the same since a few years ago, I'm also invested in two mainly international mutal funds. Those ain't doing too bad, though I should invest in healthcare or pharmaceudical companies also, other than Apria.

I don't invest in the market as much as I use to. I mainly work with realestate now. When I did I was heavy into energy stocks. Reason was to dividend capture. Worked it well for a long time. But I have since realised that with the capital it required to do that I could make more in realestate investing.

I trade on the NASDAQ for a living but carry some long positions in DIS, MSFT, and KRI. I also maintain a portion in an Index 500 fund and T Bills for "just in case".
