Ever since spring track started up this week for me, my legs have been sore like none other. I mean, yea it's to be expected since it's only the first week of training. But do you know any good remedies, other than stretching and heat?

soak your legs in cold watter for about 4-5 min

then take them out and let them rest

repeat

I was amazed at how well this worked for my arms after rock climbing. and if it helped my arms recover then it might help your legs

Yes, I was a national level, and bloody good, four hundred meter hurdler, therefore Legs are a speciality. Warm up for nigh on an hour and a half, with drills, stretches and three runs. Subsequent to the race/event, and ice bath or cold bath. Painful and thoroughly unwelcome, but effective.

I was thinking that you were supposed to alternate hot and cold.

It's marketed as "Voltaren®, Voltarol®, Diclon® and Cataflam®, wiki tells me. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diclofenac) Here it is available as a gel that you can use on sore limbs. You have it, too? Of course. It's one of those must haves in your personal household pharmacy.

During wrestling season a nice hot bath would make me feel a hundred times better.

Yea, I just tried a heating pad but it's only worked marginally. Just took an asprin tho - with any luck that might work

hot shower/bath, rest, massage, tylenol (you can take up to 4 normal dose pills every four hours if the pain is very bad), Voltaren gel, icy hot, protein.

Stretching out in a suana did miracles for me during football camp last year. If you don't have a sauna just turn your shower on and wait for it to get nice and steamy.
