Is there a song you just can't help singing along?

There's one song for me, and one song only... I like to whistle or hum along to most songs I like, but this one's special.
Don't ask me why - no special memories, the text is nothing out of the ordinary, and yet, anytime I play the CD, I find myself singing along at the top of my lungs (and feeling really sorry for the neighbours). I even put it on repeat and sing along 4 or 5 times.

That song is "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright, one of the songs on the Shrek soundtrack (1. part).

What's yours?

Yesterday it was... ehm, I don't remember.

Today it was Cillit bang! Cillit bang! Cillit Cillit Cillit bang! incredible Cillit bang!...

Tomorrow I don't know.

I have so many..........

most of them are on my daughter's CD's though...

Henry the 8th (actually just about everything by Herman's Hermits)

Sunshine, Lollypops, and Rainbows everywhere (not sure if that's the actual name)

Dream (by the Monkees)

yeah, it's my daughter's stuff.

The only ones that spring to mind atm are Where Have You Been? and She's Famous Now by RBF and most of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat :D

Nearly every damn song I hear more than once. For some stupid reason, I close to immediately unconsciously memorize lyrics, and coupled with my just as stupid urge to sing whenever I hear music, I can't help but sing along. Most of the time I only realize I do seconds later, which is always seconds too late, as my singing is abominable.

edit: Mooseica, you are officially declared the poster of the night. *loves Joseph to the moon and back*

Oh, I sing along to pretty much every song I so much as think I know the lyrics to. Or part of the lyrics. Or just some words, really. Not the correct ones either, most probably. :p

And thisThat song is "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright is definitely one of the most sung-along-to songs in my collection.

I have so far been wise enough to not click that song as the songs you send have the overwhelming tendency to stick in my head in a totally unacceptable way, and this comment of yours about the clip gives me the impression that I shall be glad not to have clicked that, either.

Bus to Beezlebub by Soul Coughing, but mostly because it uses Powerhouse as it's 'bedding,' so to speak (it's that factory theme from the Bugs Bunny cartoons) and the words make so little sense.

Your words burn the air, like the names of candy bars...you get the idea.

Hah, he's one of two that caught my eye right away - he really should lose that sweater, but he does have a very sexy smile/grin going on.
Although the guy in the red shirt (also middle row, fourth (? I'm certainly not going to watch it again, so fourth it is) from right) beats him in the eye department. Yum.

Most disturbing in that video: those white shoes about 0:38 seconds in.

The sweater is just there to go with the retro style of the video. I'm hoping it comes off, as his smile is bound to do when you give him one.

He does have dreamy eyes, but he looks too Swedish, IMHO.

w00t! :fluffle: strange though it may seem you may ahve actually just made my night :D (Although my night has so far consisted of chemistry shite and general boredom so maybe not so strange). It is rather fantastical isn't it? I just can't understand the funny looks people give me when they hum a snippet of, say, The Brothers Come to Egypt (Grovel Grovel) and I end up singing the whole thing. Often with actions. And in the appropriate voices.

Yeah - I do actually know at least half, in fact more like 2/3 i would've said, of it word-perfect. All the colours in [i] Joseph's Coat [i] still elude me though, and I refuse to look in the CD cover thingy for the words. That's cheating.

I don't actually sing aloud because that's kind of obnoxious but I sing in my head. "When I was young I knew everything..." :D

Edit: Also, I'm not so sure anymore if it's really the eyes on Red Shirt Guy, it may be the mouth/smile. He needs more screen time! And yes, this means I did watch it again. *hits herself over the head*

Ha, I'm glad to return the favor.

Rather fantastical? Rather?! It is plain and pure fantastical! And yes, I made the mistake of loading the whole thing onto my mp3-player and listen to it on my way to uni for a week or to, and then sitting in the lectures humming and singing under my breath..

Oh good, now you have me trying to get them all togther..*sings quietly*

Hehe - I've had the CD kicking around for years (saw the thing live when I was about 5 - probably got it then) and then a cupla months ago we did a kiddies service in church on the story of Joseph, so naturally it featured songs from the musical, and since I was actually playing those songs I was quite heavily involved. It aroused my curiosity, so I went home, dumped it on the computer and... well, I expect you can imagine.

I can usually work my way through the whole thing, but I fall apart after Potiphar - Pharoah Story, Song of the King, Stone the Crows (oddly enough I've got Pharoah's Dream Explained down pat) then I pick up again, then lose it at Jacob in Egypt.

My mum at the time worked in managing Christian musicals, and Joseph was the one she did while I was with her, and so I got to see it being put together for months..ah, good times.

Jacob in Egypt is teh thing! Blasphemy!
