Man who weighed 1,000 pounds down to 400
Associated Press
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Patrick Deuel, who once weighed more than 1,000 pounds, has lost another 81 pounds in a surgery that removed a mass of fat and skin hanging from his midsection.
...
When Deuel came to Sioux Falls for gastric bypass surgery in 2004, he weighed 1,072 pounds.
He was so large his bedroom wall had to be cut out to extract him from his home. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with extra-wide doors and a ramp-and-winch system that had to be dispatched from Denver.
Gastric bypass surgery, a stomach stapling procedure, was thought to be his best chance for permanent weight loss.

Sioux Falls, SD (AHN) - A man who once weighed more than a thousand pounds continues to lose weight. Patrick Deuel now weighs about 400 pounds after losing another 81 through surgery.
He underwent surgery Tuesday in South Dakota to remove a mass of fat and skin that was hanging from his midsection, making it hard for him to walk. His surgeon says the Nebraska man is doing well.
When Deuel first underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2004, he weighed 1,072 pounds. He was so large his bedroom wall had to be cut out to extract him from his home. He was taken to the hospital in a special ambulance with extra-wide doors and a ramp-and-winch system.
What do you think? I emailed the AP to ask about it. Could it have just been a press release? Or is it full-blown plagairism?
