I really wish I wasn't at work that day. I would've came there myself and started a little debating. Assuming I wouldn't be killed first.

So now it begins...the muslims now want to Canada to submit to islam law and to make a law against drawing the cartoons of their great late prophet.

These are times where I am glad that Harper's party is christian, since we all know how well muslims and christians go well together.

If they don't like freedom of speech they should just leave. There are plenty of places for them to live where there is Islamic law and where they don't have to see pictures of the prophet.

(Note to Jocabia: One of the speakers in the video mentioned that there were Muslims of all races there. I am making this statement to all of them, not just the "brown" ones. :) )

Again, a situation of a minority of Muslims shouting the loudest again. Though I do wonder, how much louder do they intend on shouting yet? :)

Much ado about nothing - par for the course where the OP is concerned.

Wake me up for something substantial, next time - okay?

Freedom of Speech is a necessary condition for the existence of a Free and Democratic Society.
Freedom of Worship is not a necessary condition for the existence of a Free and Democratic Society.

Therefore, if you wish to maintain a Free and Democratic Society, the following axiomatic:
Freedom of Speech is not expendable.
Freedom of Worship is expendable.

Therefore, if you wish to maintain a Free and Democratic Society, any conflict between the 2 must be resolved in favour of the first, at the detriment of the other.

What follows from the previous conclusion is that any other decision constitutes a betrayal of Democracy.
And the punishment for Treason is, rightfully, death.

Why are they always fucking whining? They don't seem to realize that freedom of speech includes the right to speak about religion, regardless of whether or not it offends you. If you don't like it, then you should leave...there's no way in hell you're going to take away any of my freedom just because you don't like something.

All I've got to say is "STFU or GTFO" to people who want to impose Islamic law on any of our freedoms...convienently enough, only Islam is sacrosanct enough to avoid criticism or ridicule since they only want to ban criticism of their own religion and not others.

Well put, although the death part is a little harsh.

Thank you. Harsh, perhaps, but I wanted to be sure ity was obvious that I meant a real betrayal, not some lukewarm metaphysical betrayal.

Free and Democratic Societies are worth preserving.
But if you shrink from paying the price for them, in blood if need be, you soon won't have either Freedom nor Democracy.
Free and Democratic Societies are not for sissies.

I just love how people take the opinion of one small group of Muslims and use that with a broad brush to whitewash all muslims, but wouldn't ever think of stating that Pat Robertson speaks for all Christians.

Fortunately, these Muslims have the opportunity to march, to speak, and to make their feelings known by virtue of living in a free society. The fact that they are using that march to try and limit this very same freedom that they are enjoying is simply delicious irony.

But I can't condemn them for voicing their beliefs - no matter how much I disagree with it in this case and no matter how much I would work to oppose it.

The cartoons many are protesting are grade-school in comparison of the anti-Jewish ones. The offended Muslims should just deal with it like the Jews do.

Free and Democratic Societies are not for sissies.

SUPER awesome quote.

Hey, they can enforce it in their own countries, but they should not expect us to simply bend over.

They shouldn't be expecting we would even consider this. But decades of pampering them made them hopefull they can force their religiouse laws upon us.

The only way we could ever conceivably have "Islamic Law" in Canada is if a majority of us want to have it. Likelihood: nil. But even then, it'd be darn tricky to arrange. So it's just a wankfest. So let 'em want the impossible. Let 'em make as much noise as they want. As long as they want. It's not like it's going to happen. Ever.

I think the protestors should just cut to the chase and mount their rallies in the lobby of the CHUMCity building on Queen St. Y'know, make it less hassle to get it on the news as filler. Instead of making a CityPulse truck schlep up University to Queen's Park. It's cold outside.

Everywhere with an increasing number of muslims. Thats not just limited to Europe.

They're not going to leave though, they'd sooner stay to turn our societies in theocratic cesspools. Still, they'll always leave if they're held at gunpoint.

Well, in Canada we do have hate propaganda legislation and I for one think this makes Canada somewhat distinct from the US. I am thankful for a little distinction.

You post says it all......hatred???

The Righteous? Indignation theme is wearing awfully thin.I mean it's one thing to protest a perceived insult, that is your right,it is another to harp on it over and over again.I mean if i was to be insulted and outraged every time someone mocked Christianity I would never get any rest. This has the feel of nothing more than a overhyped protest march done simply because the media was there.Sharia Law?? in Canada, Riiigght...Get a Life.GO,ROLL UP THE RIM TO WIN.
