weird feeling........

okay so every once in a while I get a weird feeling, today has sorta been off, slowed down, muted almost, things just a little not right. Then all this weird stuff starts happening (radio playing obscure songs that have meaning to me, I got a weird email from someone that I haven't talked to in like 3 years) I know a low pressure front is moving in, so I thought it might be that, but this is different than my usual weird feeling, the sky looks weird, it feels weird, my dog is freaked out, my sea monkeys are even swimming weird.........

okay, so someone smart tell me that there is a scientific explaination for all this, (one besides "you are going crazy")

come on please?

weird weird playlist on the radio now...........another even more obscure song with meaning ( I think in all reality I do assign meaning to a lot of songs)

anyone ever have those weird days?

*no I am not under the influence of anything.

There's your damn problem.

Of course there's a highly reassuring scientific explanation. It's caused by the radiation engulfing the Earth from all the corporate pollution and my evil plans (;)); within twenty years, all life on Earth will die, it will veer closer to the sun, and the surface will be covered with weird radioactive gases amplifying the already frighteningly high temperatures. The ozone layer will disintegrate. Finally, after a billion years or so, the Earth will explode from all the radiation building up inside it like a ridiculously massive nuclear bomb, destroying the solar system and plunging the entire 6567th Universe into the giant black hole at its centre.

Or not...

I don't have weird days but weird coincidences happen now and then. Annoyingly, I can't actually think of any examples.

now guys I am serious, this is freaky.

Last year when I had this thing where I was awake but couldn't move at least 4 people came up with verifiable scientific explainations, this could have one right?????

Well, I believe everything has a scientific explanation. I think I do have weird feelings sometimes actually, but that might be caused by prolonged solitude.

Animals always act weird when troublesome weather is approaching. Like last year before a tornado landed near our house my animals were freaking out days beforehand.

The radio bein all wierd? Anyone in here a physics major? I only took it in high school.

As for your personal troubles. Anyone in here Psychologist major?

okay so I think I figured out the radio thing...... but everything else is still weird.

my figuring out the radio thing....I turned off the internet radio and started listening to the "real radio" which also had songs on it that were likewise weird until I figured out that it's Tuesday which means I actually know the guy who does the play list so, it would make sense that they would play some songs that........okay, no it's still weird.

Is this weird as in adversely affecting you weird? Causing you some kind of harm? Because if not then I wouldn't sweat it so much. If it is then... I dunno - take a day off work or something, take a refreshing walk in the countryside, get out in the fresh air at least - it's probably because you spend too much time cooped up with your computer :p Aside from that I honestly have no idea what is wrong.

On a slightly lighter note however; you have sea monkeys?! No way! That's awesome!

My husband is cool enough to know that Sea Monkeys are the best present ever ! (esp. for someone nicknamed Smunkee)

Hell yeah, spend some time with your sea monkeys and ease your mind. I remember before I had my mental breakdown I kept having really wierd days.

I have weired "slo-mo" days when I wake up still slightly drunk from the night before... but I guess that wouldn't count here...

How about emotional trauma (altho for me that usually coincides with alcohol), that sometimes puts my head above my body, if you will, and i feel like i might as well be watching my life in third person...

no?

who knows...

Sounds like its all in your head (not saying you're crazy). The more you weird things you notice, the more weird things seem to happen - your mind becomes trained on spotting irregularities, this could've just snowballed from a slightly strange occurence. These sorts of things probably happen all the time but you just don't notice them - unless you think about it.

Weird coincidences happen, or things that could be interpreted as weird coincidences happen every other hour. Seeing signs in things is easy as pie, which is why there isn't just one origin of superstitions: the brain is a pattern recognition device. It's an awesome survival trait, but it goes kinda wonky when you add consciousness into the mix.

If you're feeling weird on a given day, it's perfectly natural that you should be noticing things you wouldn't on a normal day. It's not the world that's weird, it's your mood.

On a normal day, try as an experiment, to pick out every meaningful coincidence that happens to you. If you try hard enough, you can pick up heaps. But the reason why it's normal: just think how many meaningful coincidences don't happen to you.

[EDIT] - damn, that guy above me said all this as I was writing it

Okay, that's helpful. :) Thanks.

Weather changes happen too regularly (unlessthis happens a lot), I would guess that several 1000 brain cells recieved a pulse from a stimulus, and load more pulses concieved a thought of strangeness associated with it completely randomly :).- and from that you started to notice more strange things.

Considering that intelligence is a prerequisite for insanity, not very.

The mushroom has always tended to score very poorly in the sanity test. A score of 2% sane is typical. This very low percentage just beats the telephone salesperson by 0.5%

Although it depends on the mushroom as to what variety of insanity - fly agaric tends to be the raving lunatic insane, whereas shitake tends to be the more refined sitting-in-the-middle-of-a-darkened-room-at-midnight-playing-a-piano insanity.

Dead right but if you take a look at the January edition of the 'Mushrooms Monthly' publication you can see that although a mushroom's insanity is variety based (percentages varying from 1-5%) the average insanity score, mushroom-wide, is 2%

Okay so Marital Law was right....and I traced it back to the weird thing that I had almost forgotten about, which is I saw the drummer in my old band in the Walmart today on the way to Bible study, which probably prompted the email from my old bass player which probably prompted everything else being weird. I just got an IM from the drummer, they are re-starting the band....they want me back in......it's been 7 years, I am a mom now, an SUV driving mom, can I even be in a punk band now?!

yeah, it's their fault.

That was a good issue, did you see the size of the spores on that Boretus on the double-page spread? Pwooaarrrr!

Yeah, incredible. Can't help believing that the huge size was due to GM silicon implants tho. I think the Boretus is so beautiful without these ridiculous augmentations. Sometimes these unnatural spores are just too big to get in your mouth whether they're nice to fiddle with or not.

Slightly madder than your average fungus but nowhere near as mad as a root vegetable.

No seriously, I have had some very surreal days, but they've left me so confused that I can't even remember what confused me. In fact they're like forgotten dreams. Wait maybe they were dreams...

But honestly I have had strange feelings of dejavu, but I always think it's because I've dreamt it before. It's strange... Life is very strange...
