Do you put sugar on your cereal?
If so, do you put the sugar on before the milk or after the milk?
Vote and discuss.

Depends on the cereal
Something like Checks or Cherios yes
Something like lucky charms ... no

Per above post....
Revision: Assume I'm talking about cereal that doesn't come sweetened (or excessively sweetened)... like corn flakes, wheaties, Total, raisin bran, etc.

I hate milk and cereal. However, whenever I am enjoying a fresh bowl of aborted fetuses, I am always sure to put just a faint dusting of sugaring on after I've killed a small animal and poured its blood into the bowl.

I sometimes put some honey, but not sugar.

I put the sugar on first, then the milk
I find that this helps the sugar desolve better than if you put the sugar on after the milk.

If it's a boring cereal like corn flakes, then yes. Before the milk.
Usually ends up with a huge lump of sugar in the bottom of the bowl.

I put milk first then sugar as the sugar then lies, and doesn't get washed away by the milk. however, i only put milk on cereals like weetabix and cornflakes. And even then, when i have hot weetabix it doesn't matter as it all gets mixed up anyway :D

Only cereal I ever put sugar on is Rice Krispies.

If I sweeten them at all, I put maple syrup on cornflakes. Before the milk.

Did you vote sugar first, then milk? The sugar lasters are up 2-1.

I never put sugar on any cereal. I went overseas for a couple of years, came back and realized that the American diet consists of a greasy chunk of meat coated in sugar. Damn, how I'm sick of grease and sugar.

I've never known anyone who puts sugar on before milk....
On a side note: eww cereal....

yeah i didn't say it in the post before but i put the sugar on before the milk - that way you get a more even spread of the sugary goodness :)
and cerial isn't that evil. what did it ever do to you?
its not like it put you on a horse and stopped dead in the middle of a french road or anything... oh wait... that was cerial's fault  :D

yep, more even distribution because the sugar dissolves faster (i think, anyway) -- you don't end up with a bunch of gritty sugar on top of the flakes.

quite! and whats more when you have weetabix, i have them with hot milk so the sugar melts superfast and ends up like some kind of sweet semi-carmelised topping (ok so thats the opposite of what you were saying but its still good damnit!)

You sugar first and then the milk disperses those gorgeous crystals of sucrose throughout the bowl. Sugar after milk means you'll get the sweet surface of cereal without this distribution and then as you munch thru the top layer the cereal will have lost all it's beautiful sweetness.
I eat Frosties :p
Is there need for sugar? So yes, I just add milk.

I still bang sugar on me pre-sugared cereal, especially sugar puffs.

I don't eat cereals. Milk in the morning makes me seriously sick, and any other time during the day it's just yuck...

I pretty much exclusively eat Frosted Mini-Wheats, so no. But back in the day, I wouldn't have put sugar on an unsweetened cereal. Seems like if you want it sweetened, they already have a sweetened version you can just buy (i.e. Corn Flakes -> Frosted Flakes, Shredded Wheat -> Frosted Mini-Wheats, etc.).

Shredded wheat has got to be the 'king' of breakfast cereals. They are by far the tastiest but require huge amounts of delicious white sugar, and then (and only then), lots of milk.

Those all have sugar in them already. I don't add sugar to cereal.

Dried fruit and yogurt is all that I use!
My cereal is sugary enough without any help from me.

My cereal of choice is Cinnamon Toast Crunch, so putting sugar on that would be like putting ketchup on a tomato.
I tried adding sugar to my Frosted Mini Wheats. The result of sugar mixed with milk was... quite awful.

"Frosted" cereals are for people so fat and lazy they can't be arsed to put the sugar on themselves
I put the sugar on first, then the milk

Yup. Having dry crunchy bits of sugar left over on the top of your weetbix isn't too good.
