I like going to the east in the smokies..I think thats the best part of america. The eastern part is sooooo beautiful...Mountains, then beaches and all that.. Plus many people you meet over there are rather warm, excluding New yorkers..They always seemed rude to me.

San Francisco. It is a beacon on a hill in a country that is otherwise so devoid of them. Except maybe New York, which is however overrated.

The Pacific Northwest:

- Damn Beautiful forests, mountains, and ocean.
- Mild, enjoyable weather (it's not too damn bright, like the South or Midwest).
- Amazing Biodiversity
- Progressive, tollerant culture
- Very diverse
- green year in year out

If you think the Smokies are great, wait til you see the Rockies. I say the Western US is hard to beat. Colorado and Wyoming will give you some breathtaking views. Montana is also gorgeous.

Let me ask you a question off of topic kind of....Is Sweden anything like America? I mean i know politically its more left and open minded..But like what about the people and the landscape? Just kind of curious

Oregon, especially the coast. My dad and I made a trip down there about 3 years ago (we stopped in Washington to climb Mt.St. Helens too) and it was just plain awesome. I would love to go there again and just explore (we kinda blew through).

The beaches. They stretch for miles and the sound of the ocean just lulls me into a peaceful state of mind. Especially the one in the park in Glouster with the huge rocks that you can jump off of.

Well you heard wrong my friend :) I live in Georgia so the Smokies were close enough to visit once or twice a year since I was a baby...I'm now 31 so I've seen them a lot. They are pretty but the Rockies are better IMO. There is much vegetation and pretty trees....but dont underestimate those rock formations. oH, and lots of wildlife too.

Maine and Connecticut are quite nice, as it's always sunny, and everyone is good-looking, wears Blue Harbour and struggles with existential angst.

The A, of course ...

The redwoods, Montana's gates of the mountains, Tahoe/Donner Pass, Oregon's coast (Seaside), a few other things.

And a lot of Alaska's pretty in the summer.

I find Swedes more open to outside influence. Much more aware of the world around them, and more travelled. Also, more educated on average. Otherwise, people are like people.

The landscape? Well, the US is huge. It's impossible to compare.

Excellent! They cover the western side almost top to bottom. If its green and mountains you want, then I guess I would vote Colorado, although Wyoming does have Yellowstone Park(although it reaches into Idaho and Montana too). Oregon is also beautiful...if you ever get a chance to go to Lincoln City,OR......take it! Its so gorgeous on the Oregon coast. Have wonderful travels!

Having been to the redwoods (on that trip of mine) don't expect to see giant trees every ten feet. Don't get me wrong, they are amazing when you see them, but what I saw were the survivors, what remained of heavy logging and such.....which I guess is a spectacle in itself. Enjoy them while they last.

Definitely Colorado (specifically the rockies). Just spent a few days up near Aspen, and (despite the head cold I brought back) it was great. Still snow all over the place up there. Colorado mountains are the best during the winter.

Yeah, the Columbia River Gorge and surrounding area is the best. The gorge itself, Multnomah Falls, Mt Hood and Timberline Lodge... (go crazy!)

(for those who don't know, the "go crazy" comment is because The Shining was filmed at Timberline Lodge at the top of Mt. Hood.)

The Pacific Northwest is pretty but it kinda creeps me out. It has so many pine trees... Where are all the deciduous trees? I mean, thier forests are green in winter! Thats just not right man...

Other than that I love that place, and New England. Oh, and also West Virgina in the fall.

ohio.........

Specifically North East Ohio, well, because its home. And I think that probably is the strongest appeal there could possibly be.

Living in Virginia Beach for over a Year has reminded me how much I miss Ohio.

Seriously Everytime I drive home, just crossing the border from PA to Ohio puts me in an ecstatic mood, while when driving back I get depressed when I cross the Maryland/DC/Virginia Border.

There's so much about America that's wonderful. In California, the Big Sur. The Colorado Rockies, the color country in the Southwest with all the red rock formations, the monuments and history in Washington D.C. I can't chose one favorite, but those I've just mentioned definitely count as "favorites".

The Greatest Place in the USA?
Unfortunately its a tie.
Being born and raised, I have to say Boston Massachusetts as one.

It truly is the greatest city in the U.S.; close to Dublin and charm and drinking capabilities, holds anything you could want if you know where to look, and the best clam chowder. (Yes, Its White. The Way it SHOULD be)

And Central Arizona to Southern Utah.

Home to The greates College (once again Biased) Arizona State University, The Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park. Truly amazing area alove with culture, nature, and indegestion from all the Mexican Food. Viva la Arizona!

yeah...I've slipped into that damn accent atleast 10 times today. Gets me harassed every time too.

Best places in the USA: New England and Hawaii. No question

both have insane variety...Hawaii has snow capped mountains within view of 80 degree water...breathtaking views, cool history...etc.

New England...the beach in the summer (cape cod), the fall foliage, food, Boston.

Nothing tops Boston.

Living in Tucson there was this great moment in the morning when I could look out my bedroom window and see the sun rising over the Catalina Foothills, it was the greatest feeling, it was so beautiful and calm, and quiet. I miss it.:(

The closest thing here is smelling the rain in the spring coming off a wheat field, I doubt I get to do that again.....because it might kill my kids LOL (okay it's not funny that it could hurt them, it is funny that I can't be forced or coerced to work on the farm because of it anymore LOL)

I can't wait for tornado season, the green sky, the calm, the slight breeze, the smell of trouble.......ah, I love bad weather.

oh, so yeah, I like Arizona best, Tucson specifically.
