Should people addicted to (or formerly addicted to) recreational drugs recieve medicare for ailments related to their use? Explain your reasoning.
If there's medicare to spare.
I think personally that Medicare should be replaced by a national health insurance plan and that the amount you pay in to the system is directly related to your lifestyle choices; people who smoke/drink heavily, have a past history of drug use, are nonmedically obese or use the system heavily have to pay more than those who do not have such risk factors.

That is honestly a lot better than any of the other choices I've seen out there. Privatizing it would cost too much, simply gutting the program would cause outrage, and fully nationalizing healthcare would put a lot of doctors out of work.
