The Ten Best Songs By...
Jello Biafra
05-03-2006, 14:05
This is a thread which is meant to introduce people to new musicians/bands, and is meant to provide a guide to the songs that someone interested in those musicians/bands could listen to first.
The idea here is to name the 10 best songs by a particular musician/band. The catch is that you have to name the 10 best songs by the musician/bad specified by the previous poster. When you do so, you get to name the next musician/band for the next poster to list from.
The first band: Weezer
The first band: Weezer
Ugh. I'd be hard pressed to pick one good song. *gives up*

Ugh. I'd be hard pressed to pick one good song. *gives up*Lol. I wanna play, too, and don't wanna list a band that I really like, so I picked a band that I only sorta like.

*waits with you for someone who likes Weezer to show up and hopefully choose a band one can play with*

I was wondering what that giant eye in the window was.
But give me a break! We were basically the same time!
And anyway, I don't know any Fugazi songs. Seen them a couple of times, but never bought any albums.
But feel free to complete my Pixies list.

...what? no Waterloo Sunset?
Nope. It suffers from overplay and doesn't really connect with me like the songs I listed. I was not just being wilfully perverse.
Bah, this thread was too cool an idea to let die.
Someone do Blue Öyster Cult.

At the risk of showing that my knowledge of dodgy metal bands actually knows few bounds, and also despite the fact I just plain don't understand metal:
Monsters.
Black Blade.
Debbie Denise.*
Joan Crawford.
Godzilla.
I Am The One You Warned Me Of.
The Red & The Black.
Before The Kiss A Redcap.
Hot Rails To Hell.
E.T.I.
(Don't Fear) The Reaper.
* BÖC and Patti Smith: now how kewl is that?
Next on the chopping block: CRASS, and yes both sides of Yes, Sir I Will only count as one tune.
Brattain

or

2. Hey, look! Eric Clapton only has 1 good song. One-hit wonder?

I refer you to his guitar work on the 1966 Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton LP in order to correct your opinion. This album also shows that he hasn't come anywhere close to living up to his true potential over the last 40 years of feckless time wasting and fretboard noodling.
