What American country has the worst flag?

I know there's a thread for countries of the world, but I wanted to focus this on America.
Here they are: http://www.sitographics.com/enciclog/banderas/america/

I'll have to go with Greenland on this one. Looks like one of those Seventies designs you would find in a living room.

I don't feel like making a poll.

Greenland is property of Denmark. Unless you mean it in continental terms.

Continental. And since they have their own flag they count.

uruguay just makes me laugh. It has a smiley face sun...that reminds me of what I did when I was in 3rd grade

Awww, the sun has a smiley face. Isn't that cuuuute? I wonder which lucky second-grader won the "design a flag" competition.

Or territory, as long as it has a flag. They're pretty autonomous anyway, their own official language, flag, government, etc. They only defer to Denmark for defense and foreign affairs matters.

Hmmm... perhaps we should include the flags of the Netherlands, UK, Denmark, and France in countries of America.

And why not Bhutan, Nepal or Mongolia. They all have flags too.

They don't have territories in America.

They most likely have an embassy.

Which territories do the European nations you mention have in America then? Save Denmark which owns Greenland.

Well, the Netherlands have the Antilles. The UK has Bermuda. Dunno about France.

I think the UK owns a bunch of tiny islands, but as for France, well I have no idea.

France: St. Pierre et Miquelon, French Guiana.
Netherlands: Netherlands Antilles (same status as Greenland and Denmark)
UK: A bunch of islands in the Caribbean.

Ah yes, I forgot about French Guiana. Interesting. As for Greenland, I wonder who even inhabits it.

The two continents taken together have been known as America for a long time.

By Western Hemisphere would you mean everything west of 0º to 180º?

It is the half-assed patriotic thing.

Dominica's is somewhat nice, except it has a parrot on it. Belize has a nice overall design, but... the details...
Hondurs' symbol looks so much like a prison tatoo popular in my country...
Suriname's suck quite a lot, as does Guyana's.
But, in my view, top honours go to Panama. That one REALLY sucks.

Oh, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, yours sucks as well.

The United States flag is pretty bad. It's just too busy. Who needs that many stars and stripes?

As for Greenland, I wonder who even inhabits it. Um, Greenlanders? 56,375 of them, to be exact (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/gl.html), 88% of them Inuit and Greenland-born whites, 12% Danish and others.

As for the crappiest American flag, I think St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts (which, apparently, is San Cristobàl in Spanish) and Nevis, Grenada, Bahamas, Jamaica, Panama, and Columbia all aren't so great.

But the kicker has got to be Barbados - what's with the pitchfork?

Methinks the title means North American countries.

Uruguay, it is just funny to me.

Unless of course that was their intent....in which case Uruguay has the best flag---as it works towards its goal nicely.

Presumably, Greenlanders.
I suppose the point of this thread is to give the Western Hemisphere a chance to shine in patriotic ugliness? I know, we really can't compete with Europe or Africa, who've been waving brightly coloured toilet paper in the air for millenia, but we can manage the occasional nugget of fun.
Like the Barbados flag, which, as far as I can tell, has either a broken fork or a highly inefficient trident at its center.

America is that big long continent in between Asia and Europe, yes it has a north and south, but so does Britain. :D

Greenlanders would be the obvious and most useless answer. Though the rest of what you said more or less answers the question, thanks. :)
