Quitting Smoking

Well, after some 26 years, I have quit smoking. Today marks my third day, sans cigarettes. I have not yet killed anyone, gone off my nut and shaved the local squirrel population, or any other form of insanity. This is a miracle large enough to cause me to find religion. God is out there he just hates us all.

used to smoke 2 packs a day. haven't smoked in 3 years now. best decision of my life.

I'vee tried that in the past. Thsi time I'm just going with will-power. That plus the wifes nagging ought to work.

Until you do get married you won't really understand, but never underestimate the power of a wifes nagging.

My husband quit cold turkey with the use of hypnosis. He had been smoking since he was about 5 every single day, so for like 22 years, anyway, he has been smoke free for like 3 years now. I am so proud. :D There are still days when he wants a cig. though, but he works hard to deal with his stress in another way.

I've quit several times...appearently, I suck at it.

My advice? Pick a good time to stop, not when you're heading into a week you know is going to be hell. Also, when you have a craving, go for a walk or eat something. Being bored and hungry tend to be triggers. If possible, change your routine so you aren't in a habit...so if you always smoked on the drive to work, find a new route.
