I was wondering. . . . .

With the deletion of a troll thread that turned into a string of nonsense and the person who started the thread getting the DEAT as well, along with the (fairly) recent ban on aksing for help with your homework, does it seem like the mods are getting even stricter than usual.
This has led me to theorize that one or more of the mods may actually be an employee of the FCC who has been tasked with extending the oppression of that bureau of intolerance into our beloved forum.
Thoughts anyone?
(Mods, please do not take this the wrong way. This thead is intended for humourous discussion, not for mad bashing. That goes for everyone else too. If anyone starts being an idiot I will request that the thread be locked.)

Well, I think they are being a bit silly sometimes with any sexual content. PG-13 is all fine and dandy, but then, would you have threads discussing the theoretical differences between transhumanist socialism and anarcho-syndicalism in the PG-13 category?
Ultimately, most of the people on here are old enough to be able to deal with "adult-themed" stuff. And even those that don't have access to it all out there...this is the interweb afterall. To me it doesn't seem to make a difference whether or not people get sent to the sinbin for talking too detailed about lingerie.

Well, I'm in agreement with the homework thread ban (because the most egregious poster wasn't interested in any meaningful and expansive discussion of physics, he just wanted answers).
As to the troller thread, those get clipped as a matter of long-standing course, yeah?
The mods don't seem any more draconian, at least not that I've noticed, and they've permitted threads/posts easily as offensive as Peter's "Sideboob Hour", so I don't think we're in FCC-land yet.
I did hear that Katganistan melted a guy's head, just like in "Scanners". Copycat threads, if I recall...

Seems to me the Mods have pretty much taken a hands off approach to the general threads for the most part. I just assumed they came to the conclusion that unless it was completely blatent and malicious, it was not worth bothering with. I have seen nothing to make me believe that things are more strict than they have been. Quite the opposite IMHO.

I dunno, maybe I'm just too old school. I feel like i can't post anything without someone running to the mods.

Without being too specific, what kinds of observations are you finding most unjustly censored?

Well, the thread "Death to Arabs" or whatever it was called was pretty clearly sarcastic. Admittedly, it was pretty stupid and a shout out for attention, but it was kind of funny, and I thought it was pretty obvious from the posts that no one was particularly offended by it. I thought that moving it to the spam forum instead would have been a better descision, and I certainly didn't think it was justified deleting Checkoffs, he was just messing around.

Being Canadian, I'm horrified that you can talk about "melting heads" where my children may be able to read it. Clean up the internet, for Chrissakes.
That being said.... "Boobs boobs boobs, ass ass ass."
There.

Actually with the exception of one individual that has more posts to the mod thread than anywhere else the constant snitching has tailed off dramatically.

Well I guess that person works overtime when I'm online.

Yeah, the "Death to" thing is kind of touchy, though. I missed it, so I can't really say.
How long was it up?

about 5 pages. I didn't look at the time on the first post.
Due to the deviant and rebelious nature of this thread and in accordance with mod regulation 19-4a this thread has been locked and the OP's account deleted.
O come on I must have gotten someone

The mods wouldn't dare delete me, I've been here longer than most of them. :p

That isn't a valid reason. They deated Lyric after all, who joined in January 2003... even before you. Admittedly, she was growing intolerably flameish, but still.
Besides, what do you think happened to rulebreakers in early '03 (around the time the Mods were even established)? DEATion. Or forumbans when [mantle] was around. This isn't a new thing.
