In my opinion the Police should have super-extensive powers cos they ARE there for our own good.
I think riot gear should be worn at all times, ESPECIALLY in london.
I disagree with the horses though, no reason to endanger an animal.
Im pro-baton smashing a criminals head in too
Whats ur opinion!

I favor police beatings. But I think police should be held responsible for any deaths or permanent injuries associated with those beatings. It'll keep them careful.

I also favor televising them under the name; America's Funniest Beatings. :)

I think we should do whatever our leaders tell us, and let them choose their own replacements, whoever they think is most qualified, because they know best and are protecting our interests.

Why, unless you want to turn London into a V for Vendetta-style facism

I favor police beatings as long as the police don't hit back.

My opinion is that under-fives shouldn't be allowed to use the computer unsupervised.

Go back to your play-pen and someone might bring you a rusk later if you're good.

Not gonna work. You can do a beat in full riot gear, all it will do is distance the local bobby from those he would protect.

Yay police brutality!!

Then, when the police beat one of your close friends for a crime, causing permanent damage to his brain, you'll say "Oh, well, he deserved it. Anyhow, the dude who beat him into a cerebral hemorrhage got jail time, so its all good. I love the police ^___^"

Did it occur to you that that's one of the first steps to a POLICE STATE?

I sense a reality TV format in the works. Quick, write it down and send it to Endemol.

Ok... why am i getting insulted? i mean Facism, sure i agree it does sound like that but why the 5 year old remark?
I think the police need more powers cos they are there to help us. You have nothing to fear if you are a lawabiding citizen.

But is it good television? I mean, while many of you will be out there getting mauled by rabid policemen for whatever reasons tickle their fancy, many more of us will be watching it on TV. And enjoying it. :)

Really? I've been pulled over for "swerving within my lane". I've been given a careless driving ticket for skidding on a patch of ice even though I quickly regained control of my vehicle and didn't hit anything. I've been arrested for failure to pay fines while inside the courtroom trying to pay the fines. I've had police officers go into my work and tell my boss that I'm a drug dealer when I hadn't even been convicted and was only charged with posession, not distribution. I've had concealed weapons charges pressed on me by a cop for having a knife in my car with a blade length of less than two inches.

I'd say I have alot to fear from the police.

Unless someone used your wireless LAN to browse illegal porn, and the police can't be bothered to investigate thoroughly.

Or you get the shit beaten out of you on the grounds that black guys all look the same at night.

Because the first post displayed a complete ignorance of history, politics and the law. Oh, and saying 'Rawrawrrawr ' in the title doesn't really help your cause.

What a hassle. A couple whacks with a truncheon would've been quicker and easier for them and for you. :)

The department who fucked with me the most was just angry because they never could pin posession with intent to distribute or actual distribution of drugs on me.

No it's not. NYC police caught me with a bag of drugs and a fairly large boot knife/dagger. They took the drugs and the knife and let me go. They know who's a danger to society and who's just screwing around. My worst experiences with police have been small-town suburban cops who don't get to see real crime so they try to turn every small-time criminal into public enemy number one to alleviate their boredom and make it seem like they do something other than collect speeding tickets for a living.

It would be nice to give police a little latitude to make an arrest. Criminals seem to be able to sue the cops if they get a little bump on the head. How can the police do their jobs if they're restricted in going after suspects?

This doesn't mean that I think we should let them just beat people, don't confuse me please!
