Schwarzenegger to make another Conan film if he loses election.....

Die hard Arnold Schwarzenegger fans could care less about his governorship. They'd rather see Arnie throw the next election so he can jump right into a hectic, break-neck schedule making a third and final Conan film. Sounds like Schwarzenegger fans need to lay off the wacky weed.

According to TheArnoldFans.com, people who are very close to people in Arnold's inner circle, it's a possibility. Bear in mind, these are anonymous quotes from mysterious inner circle people, kind of like the ones who e-mail you daily with secret medications to improve your sex life.

One source supposedly close to Jeff Robinov, the president of Warner Brothers film, suggested that "Robinov is definitely hoping that Arnold looses the race for a 2nd term as governor so he can make his place back into feature films with KING CONAN.".

He continued, "If Arnold looses the next term, the WB wants the new Conan epic shooting on a grueling gorilla schedule around the clock starting March 2007 for a December 2007 release date. If Spielberg can do it for WAR OF THE WORLDS it can be done." Yeah, because the first thing Arnold's going to want to do if he loses is go straight into a crazy film schedule.

This is all just speculation from very questionable sources and this is all assuming Arnold even loses the election. I'd put this one on the shelf next to Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin.

Conan III? I'd pay money NOT to see him in a loincloth.

Bless him if he shuns pressure to put on his "beautiful" celebrity image once more. Let it all hang out. Alternatively these guys could offer a little professional help:

I assume this is a threat so people will elect him?
Kind of like "Elect me or I will poison your dog."

A third movie?

It's probably based on the final book since Conan is old in that one.....

I don't think so, but it's a long time since I've read any of that stuff, so I may be wrong.

I was read the conan stories as bedtime stories when i was little i think i was only read the first 2 books though, the ones they made movies out of. I haven't read them since, and don't remember. But I haven't really read any books over that last 5 years that werent school forced or Bruce Campbells autobiography

There's only three or four book's worth by Robert Howard: most of what's in print is by other people. You do wonder what he'd have gone on to do if he'd lived a bit longer.

The way it's packaged is a bit confusing. Most of what Howard wrote was short stories (apart from the Conan novel, I think the only other thing he did that long was a science fiction story, though there may be more, as I haven't read all of it), but due to his working methods, and the fact that he comitted suicide when he was thirty, he left a lot of stuff behind that he hadn't finished. One of the editors at Arkham House undertook to get a lot of these fragments finished and, regardless of who the character originally was, they were almost all finished as Conan stories. A bit later, after Marvel had shown that original Conan stories could sell rather well, the people who own the copyrights (and I have no idea who the hell that is, I admit) started having people write original fiction based on the character. A result of this is that there's an awful lot of Conan fiction in print, but far more of it is written by people who aren't Robert E Howard than he wrote during his own lifetime.

One thing I have come to love about NS is that you learn something new everyday. Seriously I didn't know it was like that.

They reprinted all of the existing fiction in the '60s, when this stuff was starting to develop an audience, and somebody decided that it would be a good idea if they had some more, so things snowballed from there. I'm not sure, but I think may be the first example of somebody doing this that led to all of the books based on roleplaying games and what have you.

It did, but this was happening back in the '60s. I think they only let James Blish write one book that wasn't redoing an episode of the telly series back then, and that was after the new Conan stuff started to appear.

It was before my time as well, to be honest, but I'm told the Conan sharecrops started before they started doing this sort of thing with anybody else's work.

True but there was a set of books. 12 I think. The last one being called Conan of Aquela(sp)

I have the set somewhere in a box as I am going to add bookshelves to a wall.

Conan basically dies because he disappears on an adventure after turning over the kingdom to his son but it's been awhile since I read them.
