Chose your favorite band/singer from above. Yes, yours is not up there (It only allows 10 choices), please mention it. Also, add a reason why you like the band you picked.
I like Rage Against The Machine, because of their political beliefs, good guitar skills (Tom Morello is the guitist) and it sounds good.

Symphony X is my favorite, just beating out Kamelot and Queensryche. They write original, interesting songs that showcase their awesome talent (excellent singing especially, and absolutely awe-inspiring guitar work). Plus, they're truly rockin'. :)

Of the choices you gave, I suppose I like the Misfits the best... although they're only kind of good.

Anti-NoWhere League maybe. Or The Blood.. Or The Blitz perhaps.

Or maybe something slightly more recent, like Loikaemie, or 4 Promille.. Or perhaps a mix, like Perkele.

Then again, Disorder isn't bad at all, and Paragraf 119 was fucking brilliant.

So many bands.. Couldn't possible settle on one.

First, I made the fashioncore comment about Avenged Sevenfold, not the dude you quoted.

Second, I dunno about the other bands, but you'd be hard pressed to find Early 80s hardcore fans that wear girl pants, tight shirts, and emo hair over one eye.

You'd be even more hard pressed to find a fashioncore kid who listens to Aus Rotten. Fashioncore and crust don't usually go together.

I choose the Misfits from that list.

I refuse to claim any band is my "Favorite" band because that is just trite and shallow, and shows a genuine lack of open mindedness.

If I am in the mood for zydecko how can the Misfits be my favorite?

If I am in the mood for punk how can Slayer be my favorite?

And so forth and so on.

It depends on what you need to hear at that moment.

I have never understood the fuss about Coldplay being all that great anyway. How and why are they significantly better than, say, Travis, Athlete or Starsailor?

Okay, here's a reason against Starsailor: After listening through an entire album, you might just want to pop some sleeping pills with a bottle of vodka to stop the pain. ;)
