Like this (http://www.wdxcyber.com/bcp.htm) for example. I'd assumed that because the Morning After pill was basically a high dosage of birth control pills, and that it impeded implantation of an embryo, that birth control pills in general did the same. I was wrong.

The birth control pill works primarily by blocking ovulation (release of an egg). If there is no egg to meet the sperm, pregnancy cannot occur. The pill also works by making cervical mucous thick and unreceptive to sperm, slowing tubal function which has to move the egg down the tube to meet the sperm, and by making the lining of the endometrium unreceptive to implantation of a fertilized egg should one get as far as the uterus.

So why is this important? Well, inextricably tied to the fight over abortion is the fight over contraception. The real activists in the anti-abortion movement aren't concerned about the fetus so much as they're concerned that any woman having sex isn't submitting to being a baby-factory. This whole movement is about controlling who gets to have sex and under what circumstances--otherwise there wouldn't be rape and incest exceptions in the law. But with birth-control pills, there's no egg, and therefore, no embryo--at least most of the time.

But if there is an embryo, and it does make it to the endometrium and is unable to implant (thus negating God's intent for that potential to express itself), then to the anti-abortionist, that's the same as an abortion. Birth-control pills = abortion, under their logic, because you're interfering with the life process that began at conception.

Now never mind that most embryos, even without birth control pills getting in the way, never manage to implant--for these people, the issue is that humans are interfering in the pre-ordained order of things, which is that men do the fucking and women do the receiving and dammit, you don't dare get rid of our precious seed. For them, women are only receptacles of that manly gift and they ought to be thankful that they're being used as God intended.

Women, if you're not pro-choice, you're ceding control over your most precious possession to a group of people who couldn't give two shits about you.
