In the US, that is. I'm not one of downloading illegal stuff, nor am I resourceful enough to get a copy of Advent Children from Japan. So when I saw it getting released in the US (April 25th), I was ecstatic.

From those who have seen it (and those have not), what's your opinion on the movie? Is it worthy of the seventh incarnation of Final Fantasy?

I'm immune to spoilers, since they don't affect me, so don't worry about accidentally spilling any vital information. Or not.
Kinda Sensible people

The graphics are beautiful, the fight scenes are amazing, and all the (survivng) characters from FF7 are shown in the movie. The plot's a little confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite wonderful.

My only complaint is that it could have been longer.

It kicks ass. However, it is kind of short and sketchy - definately designed for those who are familiar with Final Fantasy 7. There is plenty enough strange storyline and action for regular people, though hardcore Final Fantasy people might get whiny about it (they are always whiny about something).

I concur. They never end.

Not illegal.
Well, it wasn't when it was on the net.
Now it probably is.

I've never played any of the games, but the movie is wonderfully animated. I had to do some research to understand some of the plot (simply from having no background in the game), but it's an engaging story.

FWIW, I've had the movie since it was released back in September.
