Is it just me or has the number of gay related threads shot through the roof of late? Did a memo go around? Is it National 'Pick on the Gays Week'? Have members of the crazy baptist brigade recently decended on the boards? There just seem to be more of these types of threads than usual. They often start off fairly innocently but pretty soon they become mired in hate and ill informed opinion. I hate them and yet I'm hooked by them. I know the same arguments are going to come up in each of them and I know I'm going to be moved by madness to post angry replies, and defences of my lifestyle.

I just read a post stating that loving, consensual relations between two men is just as disgusting and abominable as child molestation and it just made my blood boil. :mp5:

So, I'm going to make a conscious effort not to get drawn into any more of these reptitive gay themed threads that go nowhere and do nothing but upset me. I urge you all to do the same, its time for national 'Lay off the Gays Week'!

It's one of the NS General Cycles, so just wait a little while and it will be gone.

this can be resolved with a simple solution:

Hate Week

one day for every minority. on that day, you will be hated on. not physically. no questions asked. the rest of the year, any hate will be punished with death.

Perhaps, but the thrill wears off after you've been told for the millionth time that every time I cuddle up with my boyfriend in front of the tv God kills a kitten.

However sometimes threads about threads can be interesting. Threads about threads about threads probably would be going too far though. Besides, this thread was the only way of directly raising my particular gripe.

You've fallen victim to a flamer it seems. Dont let it get you so riled that you get spanked by a mod. Refute them with intelligence and self control. It's sometimes hard I know.

Making them look stupid is also a useful technique. But from the comment you gave as an example, seems they already did that themselves.
