The crappy movie thread got me thinking. Is this one of the best Cheezy B-grade action movies of all time or is it just crap? Personally I can't change the channel if I see it on TV.

Love it.
I don't think about "Big Trouble in Little China".
I've heard it's a good flick, though.
Cheesey but unmissable.Very funny..
It is a pile of shit. I felt I had been lobotomized by it, when I watched on a very, very stale afternoon. I blame Romanian tv.
Option 4 on the poll seems to indicate that you're aware of this, but I have to point it out anyway: the title would work like a charm for a very specific p0rn flick.

That did occur to me.
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Yep, it's a fun movie! :D

I liked it when it came out but I was much younger. Mortal Combat would never have had the cool lightning dude if it weren't for that movie.

I love the gang war in the beginning. Just the variety of weapons involved.

Yeah, Egg Shen was the shit. That squinty-eyed, dirty little dude kicked some ass in the magic duel with Demon Lo-Pan

It's not a great movie, that's for sure. What is however interesting about it is that the central character who in other cases would be the hero, is actually shown to be utterly incompetent in the situations he encounters, whereas the sidekicks, who in conventional films are relegated to the role of little more than spear-carriers, are the effective protagonists. First example of this in american film making that I can recall.

It was John Carpenter's tribute to Hong Kong Action/Fantasy Cinema. And a pretty damn good one at that.

one of the finest B films ever made next to the evil dead series. John Carpenter...whatever happened to you???
He made so many great horror flicks (the fog, the thing, christine, just to name a few)
last film i saw of his was ghosts of mars, which was crap
