For anyone who hasn't seen it, here's the basic premise - Sir Alan Sugar, former owner of Tottenham Hotspur FC, wants a new employee, so he gets fourteen people - 7 guys, 7 girls - to do various tasks over the course of the series, and every week one of them is 'fired' (technically they're not actually employed, so they're not being fired). The last person left gets a job working for Sir Alan.

So, is anyone else watching this televisual feast? Yesterday's show (first of the (second) series) was typically amazing. There was that 'A-Team' git, Syed, who's clearly going to be fired within a few weeks, that annoyingly excitable blonde woman, and Ben, who in my opinion was slightly unlucky to be fired, even if his business plan was a bit sucky. Difficult to tell who's likely to win it at this stage, but so long as Syed or the annoying woman I don't really mind.

Any other opinions?

I wanted Syed to be shot as soon as he opened his mouth, the blondie was not as bad but no doubt that laugh of hers will have me spewing hate.

As for Sir Alan is great, loved his intro sppech to the apprentices, mint...much better than the US version with Trump.

I missed the first episode as I was away from home on Wednesday. However, I'll either record or simply watch the repeat on Saturday. I was glued to the first series, and am sure I'll be glued to this one too.

I hope the women don't make such arses of themselves as they did in the last series of the American version in particular (the British women were slightly, but not much, better in the first UK series)! I couldn't believe their unprofessionalism.

He's arrogant, sure, but he doesn't have Trump's ridiculous level of egocentrism and narcissism.

All in all, I find his dry, cynical behaviour really quite amusing.

i only watched the last 5 mins of the first episode (if forgot it was on until it was too late) but even i want to cut out syed's tounge for being such an arse licker and rip of the blonde womens head off just for being so excitable and anoying

I quite enjoyed the first series essepcailly as my prediction won :)

i haven't seen any of the new one yet but hopefully i'll catch it next week.

Oh and the best thing about the last series was that it featured possibly the only office in the entire world to actually use the amstrad emailer/videomailer...

The first series was brilliant, I was very happy that Tim won it at the end. The new series seems to be pretty good too, but I dislike Syed and the really annoying excitable blonde woman. I thought it was kinda unfortunate the boys didn't win the first episode, after the way the girls team acted unprofessionally and the boys business seemed more sustainable, imho. I would have liked them to win as well since they were offering better quality fruit, but oh well. Still, looks like its going to be another great series of The Apprentice.
