In light of rumours of his immenent capture, i wish to propose the question, Ratko Mladic, defender of his people or dirty warlord with Innocents blood on his hand's?

I say, if they do catch him, put him on trial just like Milosevic. I would think the evidence against him would be even stronger, so the trial might not have to be that long.
But we have to get him first.

I think he will go the same way as the croat general who was recently cuaght (or did he surrender?) basically i am interested in the concept that he is a folk hero for serbs, can one mans war criminal be another ones saviour?

That's possible of course, but I'd mainly attribute it to romantic propaganda. In reality of course, Mladic's ethnic cleansing didn't help any side.
