O'Reilly calls SBS "sleazy"

For those of you who aren't Australian, SBS is one of our two public TV channels. It's the one that was the first to air those new pics and videos from Abu Ghraib on its current affairs show Dateline.

Anyway, there was a huge reaction to those pics, as you'd expect. Mostly horror, disgust etc. However, Bill O'Reilly responded with a "how dare they!!" and called SBS "sleazy." I found that hilarious. I mean, SBS shows lots of arthouse movies, so yeah there's nudity but meh. Besides, I'm not sure what that has to do with prisoner abuse.

He also threatened an Australian who emailed Fox to defend SBS with "You'd better watch what you say." And quoted someone who said that George Negus (who hosts Dateline) was a rabid leftie, or words to that effect.

Negus responded by smiling and saying that "when you've got Fox News offside you're probably doing a good job."

I just found that O'REilly's reaction was totally inappropriate, especially considering that there's torture going on...

Yes, but SBS shows nudity and torture is never as obscene as boobies. John Ashcroft and his successor taught me that.

Yeah cause I'm sure Australians really care what some American with more fingers than brain cells has to say.

I'm going to start a pool to put bets on how soon O'Reilly suffers a heart attack from yelling so much, a mental breakdown from everything he loves about government shitting itself, or finally being arrested for something that makes him look like even more of a tool.

This coming from the man who sexually harassed a woman at his workplace on tape? Right...

He'd probably say she asked for it, or that it was innocent fun...

He probably would, but his settlement check speaks volumes to the contrary.

He might have asked if she wanted to see his O'Reilly Factor, and she found out it wasn't fair OR balanced.

I've never understood America's aversion to displaying sexuality in the media. Abu Ghraib is a perfect example of how violence is viewed as more acceptable, and anyone poo-pooing the events of which the Americans are accused is fine. SBS sounds like a good channel and O'Reilly again sounds like a fully grown aborted fetus.
