BJU vs. Starbucks

Normally I'd be all for BJU. It's initials conjure up beautiful images of hot college girls going down on me for class credit. Unfortunately it stands for Bob Jones University, a fundamentalist Christian learning center. They've recently decided to stop serving Starbucks coffee on campus becuase Starbucks is too "Gay Friendly".
Now if Fred Phelps made a coffee I'm sure he could make a killing.

That is wrong on so many levels. First off, what's wrong with being gay-friendly? Second, what exactly qualifies Starbucks as being gay-friendly? Third, there was the dude named Jesus who said "treat your neighbor as yourself", and since they follow him, why don't they take his advice? This would be deplorable coming from anyone, but coming from a Christian school, it is even worse.
Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for Starbucks, but I find the discrimination to be highly troubling.

It's completely BJUs peroggative. If they want to prevent Starbucks from being on campus, that's up to them. It's not as though this will drive Starbucks out of business. Let BJU look even more like clowns than they already do, and Starbucks can attract even more customers with the PR from this little escapade.
Well, look at it this way: Starbucks makes more money in 4 days than BJU makes in an entire year from its tuition (assuming all 5000 students actually pay and recieve no financial aid). I think they can afford such a grievous loss as a BJU boycott...the stores that will close down are probably going to be replaced in...a day or so at 5 per day.
That's $18,383,561.64 per day or $212.77 per second...I guess people don't mind their "gay friendly" policies, seeing as how Starbucks is rolling in more cash per day than good old BJ could ever dream of.

None for me, thanks. But I respect their right to earn extra credit with BJU's male faculty.

Well, quite. That Jesus was obviously bent: the only two women mentioned in the new testament are his mum and a tart from an escort service. Bit of a Liberace thing going on there, I suspect.
As for Starbucks, the fact that they don't refuse to serve or (still worse!) employ homosexuals is clear proof that they are aggresively pro-gay, if you're some sort of mouthbreather who has never read another book besides the Bible.
It is, however, probably healthy that right wing fundamentalists now have a a university of their own.

Exactly. I doubt Starbucks is too distraught over this, especially considering the positive press this will get them.

It will probably get them more sales as a protest move...I've got some $250 in gift cards to redeem, so I think I'll contribute a little. Don't ask how I got so many...it's a mystery even to myself.

Exactly. This is good PR. They would have spent millions of dollars gaining the PR exposure that BJU is going to give them for free.

I don't know. I get the feeling that most people don't pay much attention to BJU.
