Google censoring Americans

Oh come on. Everything in america is censored! Just to make sure George Bush dosn't have to fix the election as much as last time.
And why was it censored? It's an explosion? Try and find out what it is if you are a yankee.
Corporate scandal.

Anybody want to debunk this censorship theory?
From all that I see it is a detination of an IED by the US military.
There is another video like this posted by the same user. It is a weapons cache detonated.
I can't seem to get any more info that that.

Maybe the Government threatened to do unpleasant things if Google allowed the video to be shown in America (not that IP-based country filtering is very effective). Of course Google and all other US-based search engines are already unintentionally breaking US law, by unwittingly breaking import restrictions on encrypted data when their bots trawl the web (US law prohibits the import or export of data with strong encryption).
Anybody want to debunk this censorship theory?
I'll try.....
Kind of difficult when you're the one actually doing the censoring, eh?
.....ok, maybe I won't.

I can find plenty more clips of controlled IED explosions on google, so, this seems like it must be a glitch, or he messed with the docid to cause the censored text to appear there (I'm not sure if this is possible).

They censor that video, but then when you click on "More Videos" I am allowed to see this horribly stupid slide show with horribly stupid rap playing in the background. Somebody at the censoring office definitely has their priorities misplaced.
It doesn't count as censorship if they own the media, it's the same as if CNN refused to show a clip they had or someone gave them. If the government stepped in, then yes, it's censorship.

According to the dictionary, it doesn't matter whether you are the government or own it. It just says that to censor is to "examine and expurgate"

Hey, stupid, you're making an issue out of absolutely nothing. Google is not, I repeat, NOT censoring this video. When you upload a video to Google Video, you have the option not to allow certain countries to see it.
Read that last part again. Google didn't censor it, the person who originally uploaded the video to google video decided not to let people in America see it.

If you could see the content filed on the AP Newswire that is never picked up by the major media outlets, or the way they butcher the ones they do, you would never make such a silly statement. Corporate media not only rivals the government in censorship, they bypass it as if it were standing still.
Censorship is not confined to government agencies. Censorship can be found thriving in virtually every imaginable sector of life, whether that be schools, the workplace, churches, special interest groups, political parties and anyplace else where people can find a need to limit information they find detrimental to their own personal agenda. The government is a bit player in that role.

You have no idea what is happening behind the camera. The guy could be being tickled for all you know.
If you then say that their in Iraq and it's scary that a single soldier could not be taking himself seriously 100% of the time, then I'd say you were being excessive. No one can be serious all the time. Added to that, that there was no one getting hurt or killed.

Anybody want to debunk this censorship theory?
Ok, easy. Noam Chomsky, in his last book, made a very pertinent point about the nature and methodology of the US administrations dating back - at the very least - to FDR.
Speaking of the cuban missile crisis, he remarked:-
"the crime of the Russians in Cuba was stealth, while the US surrounded Russia with lethal offensive weapons quite openly. That is true. The world ruler not only has no need to conceal it's intent, but prefers to advertise it, to 'maintain credibility'. The subordination of the ideological system to power ensures that virtually any action - international terrorism (as in Cuba), overt aggression (as in South Vietnam at the time), participation in mass slaughter to destroy the only mass based political party (as in South Vietnam and Indonesia) and many others - will either be dispatched into oblivion or reshaped into a legitimate act of self defence or as an act of benovelence that perhaps went astray"
Or, to put it more succintly:- The American government does not need to lie or hide things from the American people, because the vast majority of them are so spoon-fed a distorted view of events daily by a complicit mass media (as are large portions of the western world), by academia, by fellow travelling political elites in other countries etc etc etc that they will eat up any bowl of shit, and if the current President says it's Chocolate Ice Cream, they'll smile and ask for more.
What's with your spelling?
What's with my spelling? I wouldn't know. Care to elaborate?
... Or are you asking because I said "Amriikians" instead of "Americans"? Most people see it as it is, a sort of crappy joke. Which it most undoubtably is.

Take it down a notch buddy. I know I(and most of my fellow countrymen) could not make such a device. I know I don't know the ingredients, where to get those unknown ingredients or how to put the mofo together. It's something most people can't do while NOT surrounded by the most powerful armed forces on the planet... and these guys are somehow doing it right under US noses.
It's resourcefulness. Plus it takes both wile and resourcefulness to get it to go off at the exact right time.
None of this means it's right to detonate large explosives near moving vehicles... just that it's resourceful and wily.

There are no "indredients" They take artillery shells, hook a cellphone to the detonator, bury it, and when someone drives by, they make a call to the cellphone.

At the risk of going Ad Hominem on your ass, your family has problems if your 12 year old niece can build an IED.
But since I'm about 87% sure you're resorting to hyperbolic argument because for some reason you can't admit that third world insurgents building a big motherfucking bomb that effectively kills the world's best soldiers - while they're in moving vehicles - is in the least bit skillfull, I don't really care all that much what you say your niece can do.

It's takes more skill to build a sewage system, or a watersystem for potable water. It takes more skill to build a school or a hospital.

My university's library, at which I am an employee, is a censorship free zone. Basically you can look at whatever you want on the the computers and if anyone doesn't like it and they complain they are simply asked to move somewhere they can't see the screen.
Had a guy looking at Beastiality with horses and another one looking at midget porn downstairs with their back to the desk so that all the people there could watch them do it. From what I’ve read in this thread, Google isn’t out to censor America. Well not at least until the next term of Bush, when they are told to ban all sites that refer to Presidents only being able to have two terms in office.
For people making fun of the guy laughing at the explosion in the vid link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oemDhSX6dmA
He’s not at the theatre throwing popcorn around. It’s probably just a nervous reaction to realizing that explosion could have been him. I had a round whip by my head once and I let out a giggle. It’s a normal reaction to that sort of unreal situation.
Back to Google they spat on their own motto (“Don’t do Evil”) for some coin and went into China to provide censorship to the masses. But Yahoo and Microsoft were already there providing censorship services to China. Yahoo takes it a step further. Last year Yahoo was accused of actively supplying the Chinese gov with data to convict a Chinese journalist. So you’d better toss out the Microsoft and Yahoo before you start picking on Google.
