Labour MP Des Turner allready has the right idea; he wants a law against patio heaters, because they contribute to global warming, but I think he is not going far enough. His proposal would only target places like pubs, which is insufficient to protect the planet, it must be broadened to a complete ban on patio heaters, especially since the UK government just had to admitt last week, "that Britain will miss its global warming targets by a huge margin" (http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/article346162.ece), the issue of outlawing patio heater is even more important for our future.MP calls for patio heater ban

A Labour MP is calling for a ban on the use of patio heaters by pubs.
Des Turner, MP for Brighton Kemptown, believes investment in outdoor heating by pubs looking to accommodate smokers after the ban will lead to a big increase in C02 emissions.
He said patio heaters are "a profligate waste of energy", suggesting that pubs erect screens around outside areas instead.
Outdoor heating is already widely used by pubs to extend the time customers can comfortably eat and drink in outdoor areas.
Many operators are now planning major investment in pub gardens, terraces and patios in advance of the full smoking ban, which will come into force in summer 2007.
During the Commons debate which saw MPs vote for the complete ban this week, Mr Turner's fellow Labour MP Stephen Pound urged anyone looking to turn a quick profit to "buy patio heater shares now".http://www.thepublican.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=19846&d=32&h=24&f=23&dateformat=%25o%20%25B%20%25Y
