People without names

i was watching the history channel, and it was talking about a microchip they are working on that they put inside your retna and will allow you to see images through that chip, (originally intended to help the blind see again), do you think this can catch on, in 20 years will people be able to watch tv in their head?
this can go even further where they are also using brain activity to be able to control a computer (originally intended to help disabled people move again). do you think this tech will catch on? at the moment it does require some operations.
i think it is very possible that within the next 2 decades (if the end of the world doesnt come before it, but thats a different story) there can be an end to console gaming and an introduction to "brain"(?) gaming
will post an article if i find one, if you have one go ahead and post it.
