tyranny is not an idiology

the favorite propiganda myth of all time is that everybody else's idiology is tyrannical and your own is the only way to prevent tyranny.

the reality is of course, that tyranny is NOT an idiology and no idiology does a dam thing to prevent it.

and neither does any economic theory, form of government or system of belief.

so then just what IS tyranny, other then a general feeling of being oppressed or the repression of your favorite belief or something else?

the best deffinician of tyranny i've been able to come up with, that is to say one that satisfys my personal perspective, is that when it takes an act of heroism to be objectively honest, that is tyranny.

Tyranny: Lack of government in which the strongest take power, and control the weak.

Rather than an idology itself, tyranny is a method of implementing your ideology. It is the ability to say "I'm right, you're wrong, you have no further recourse, deal with it." Tyranny in a practical sense is the restriction of people's actions if it can't actively harm someone. Restricting drunk driving isn't tyranny, it is protecting the public. After all, people are quite commonly killed by drunks on the road (at least over here in the united States). However, restricting alcohol consumption in one's home is tyranny since it harms no one but one's self. Transfering wealth from the rich to the poor is tyranny. While the rich having more money than the poor may indirectly harm the poor by dening them food, it is not a direct harm and so may not be restricted.

That's my point of view.

I like Thomas Hobbes's perspective: tyranny is essentially a disliked monarchy.
