Hey everybody! I just bought a whole bunch of the Sims games in an collection pack. I have never owned one before and they had been recommended. The problem is that when my parents saw the rating they flipped out. They are kinda "protective" as they call it. I say possessive. Oh well. Here's the big Q.
What does "mature sexual themes" refer to in the game? That'a why my parents are all flipped out. I would like to find out what it means before I have to take the game back. :headbang: Any help?
In the Sims games (1 or 2) you can have your sims do something called, "woohoo", which is basically a way of saying sex without getting an M rating. Your sims can woohoo in all sorts of creative places, which is why it has an T rating due to mature sexual themes. Also, they can make out and what not all over the place.
HAHA, mature sexual themes?
Guessing you're in the USofA then?

Like does it show them doing it? It would be rated mature for that wouldn't it?

B) If you are Old enough to go to the store alone.. and buy the games yourself.. Then you are Old enough for the Sims. (Tell that To your Parents.. Show them the screen where I say so :D tell your parents My knowledge is quasi infinite)

They move around under the covers while making animal noises. Realllllly mature.

Nothing, but it's the only western country I can really think of right now that would class it as "mature sexual themes".
I live in the UK and even the Sims "Hot Date" didn't have an official rating.

Not unless you count bed covers shifting about and the occassional leg/arm/head sticking out of the bed/closet/pool/whatever.

Please God no that people would ever find out where they came from

There is nothing in the Sims that I would not let a 5 year old watch. This mature sexual themes BSis just to keep them from getting sued. The people have children by kissing afew times in a row, it doesn't even mention the pregnancy.

You know one of the many cool things about Sims is that the often-humiliating and painful course of learning about sexuality is largely bypassed in the game. Sometimes its a long and arduous task to get anywhere in that fashion, but Sims gives a certain amount of satisfaction that real life just can't give.
Also, it has people waving their arms in the air and chanting very funny-sounding SimSpeak when things don't go quite right.
Advice: Try sleeping in the graveyard and hangin' out with Mrs. Goth. *nudge nudge wink wink* ;)
Also i have a great and horrible anecdote about the PS2 game, Bustin' Out. It would take a little while to explain, so, i hesitate.

In the Sims world sex exists and the Sims are sexual beings; unlike real human children that have no sexual organs and appear magically from under mushrooms.

Well in the original Sims you could put move_objects on, move the bed while they were having sex, and see what was there. They didn't have anything.

as everyone else has pointed out, its not really that bad, BUT, if you are a minor your parents still have control over you and your actions. it doesnt matter if the law says your allowed to play the game, if your parents dont let you play the game, then you can only try to do it behind their back;)
