I just came form the Darwin exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. It was awesome! It puts you inside the head of Charles Darwin and lets you see how the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection came together. It's full of artifacts from Darwin's personal writings and collections. It counters all the arguments of creationists with simple, understated science, and you leave appreciating the beauty, elegance and importance of his theory. If you live near New York City, check it out! I don't know if this exhibit will travel to other towns, but if it does, go see it! You can get a preview at www.amnh.org.

Thread about evolution with a flame in the third post? This is like the longest it's ever taken a insult to happen. It's normally right in the OP.

Southern Khemet']well ur reasoning behind evolution is... ?
Supported by approximately 3.5 billion years of fossil history of life on earth, as well as molecular biology, basic logic, and observed instances of evolution and speciation in the modern world.

How about yours?

alrite well take the diviision of sexes... same sex organisms have it much easier for production... so it doesn't make sense that sumthing would evolve in such a way

carbomb dayting isnt reel its LIEberal propaganda LOL

That's my guess as to what his/her response will be like.

EDIT: Dang, beaten. I don't get your point? Asexual reproduction is easier, but sexual reproduction allows for more genetic varience. Each is usefull in different situations, so those that survive fine with asexual reproduction keep it, while those that need to change to survive will have sexual reproduction.

If he spoke English (or any other language proficiently) he would not be carrying on this argument. Ignorance is bliss. Evolution is obvious. Get over it.

Pehaps. But it is still better than creationism and ID... so unless you can think of something better yourself we're stuck with it.

It's spelt evilution. Not evolution.

If you're intent on doing this, at least do it properly.

Darwin kicked so much ass. He was so committed to his research - he spent years simply studying barnacles in his shed. In fact, when one of his children went to school he asked a friend "Where does your daddy keep HIS barnacles?" because his dad had being studying them for as long as he could remeber, and assumed it must be normal.

I'm so appalled he came below such relatively unimportant people like Churchill (Yeah...cause he personally won the war. Nothing do to with the actual soilders who did the fighting...) and DIANA of all people in the poll for 'The greatest Briton'. Darwin changed the world, and made one of the biggest breakthroughs in replacing superstitious religious explainations for how the world works with rational and scientific explainations.

Not only that, but he was a genuinely great guy. He might not have being a scientific genius like Newton, but he was a really loving father and husband - not at all a typical strict patriarch as was common at the time.

The Great Hall of Evolution in the Paris Museum of Natural History is a pretty damn impressive sight. :)
