Have I ever mentioned how much I love the whole wi-fi/laptop combination? My girlfriend is getting her wisdom teeth yanked as I type this, and instead of playing a weak-ass game of computer mah-jongg or reading through the August issue of AARP The Magazine, I get to post on Nationstates. I love technology.

Take the poll.

I agree this wireless thing is wonderful. I can't wait until everything is wireless.

Also agree ... though I shy away from the security risks the convenience is awesome.

Dude, a little empathy, someone near and dear is having the 8s yanked, and your posting? ;)

Yeah, I encrypt the shit out of my home wireless setup (and I'm not sure how well it works) but I'm always pleased to find an open system when I wander about.

Once they give her the perc she won't know or care.

Well the new WPA standard is not bad

Personaly I run my own VPN and require remote users to tunnel in (right now is using a 168 tripple dec encryption)

Yeah, she got one done about three years ago and that was the scene--a two and a half day fog. And she didn't mind one little bit.

i have old issues with "medication" shall we say and I am very careful what and how much I take for pain. When i had knee surgery about three years ago I got off the meds as soon as I could. There is a reason that people become addicted so easliy--it feels really GOOD.

Yeah, I hear that. Never had the issues, but pain meds have never really rocked my world. When I had my wisdom teeth out last year, I took one Vicodin and then just sucked it up with ibuprofen.

I would guess he is unusual, better off that way though I think.

Yeah. I'm reminded of that guy I read about on dailyrotten a few weeks ago, who was arrested for emptying out his mother's morphine bottle right after she died--she was on life support.

I had 5 wisdom teeth and my wife had three so I will often tell her, "I complete you".

I never got any good pain drugs for the removal of my wisdom teeth. I had them all yanked at once and it sucked. Whenever I have had access to pain meds - I always limit my use of them because I could see how it could become a habit - the feeling is quite nice.

Pffft..pain meds, nothing beats waking up after an operation and still being high due to the anestheatic.

cybernetics.. wait till dentists will be able to give you 'wisdom teeth'.. wireless connections and microcomputers.. ?braces for range... reminds me of James Bond tm.

I still have my wisdom teeth. My bottom ones may have came in compacted. I was geussing they may have done something about them when I was being held at the assessment center but I was found CR and never went back after the assessment period.. err.

I opted to go natural.. they must be there for a reason.. but whatever. same reason I'm growing my hair.. same reason I grew my nails for experimentation, cause i never did it before, really makes no difference, I don't get why they are pulled, sure it was maddeningly painful when they were coming in, but it would be painful to have them pulled, plus I don't enjoy neural blockers. (ps those charges were withdrawn)

When I had my wisdom teeth out all I had was novocaine. None of that fancy laughing gas, putting me to sleep, etc. I was awake through the whole thing, which was rather embarassing when I choked on the string they were using to sew my gums back together.... The worst part was when I choked on it the second time.....
