Do we have any musicians in here that wouldn't mind making some bumper music? I won't be able to pay you (college student), but I will plug your name, or the name of your band on my show and on my website. If you're intrested please telegram me. Thanks! :)

If i had a cleaned-up digital version, i may just toss ya some. As of yet, no dice.
There's probably a few good musicians on this thread though.

Well I would like at least a bumper music for the beginning of my show that has an announcer saying

"Welcome to Just Plane Talk, with your host Sean (my last name)", with some music.

Plus, I want to avoid the whole legal trouble that I can get into by using copyrighted music.

How long do you need it?

I haven't the foggiest idea on what to record for an aviation show though (cool interest though, I share it :)). And it would probably be pretty bad quality even if I did.

Go to a music store, buy the soundtrack to "Top Gun" and get some ideas from that. I basically looking for the same style of music that is in that sound track. I would use the sound track, but like I said, I do not want to get sued.

*"looks" at "highway to the dangerzone"*

Haha, how very 80s :p

I can lay a guitar track similar to that easily, but I don't play the drums, bass, or have a synth. I assume you don't want vocals.

The only vocal I want is on the beginning track where you have the announcer. But other than that, no vocal. lol. As for the 80's music, you got to admit it's better than some of the crap we have today.

Maybe, but it's also worse than some of the stuff we have today. ;)

Well. I'll try laying out a simple guitar track and then maybe someone can put drums/bass on top of it later.

Remember what i was saying about Michael "Savage" Weiner?
Most of the bands he plays on his show don't like him at all but he still uses their music ... i don't know if there's an issue of being sued or not but you'd think that one might make a legal case out of it ... might be worth looking up.

Yea, one could make a legal case out of it, since most of the music out there is copyrighted. I'm a pretty safe guy when it comes to this sort of thing, and I believe in better safe than sorry. Plus, it'll give my listeners a chance to hear some original music! So I'll have music that no one can sued me over for, the listeners get to hear original music, and it'll make the show more fun. Fun times will be had by all!

More to the point, i don't think any cases got anywhere since he still plays those artists anyway. But you're likely on a different budget than him.

I'm also wagering he has a staff of *killer* lawyers (the same ones he so vociferously hotmouths oh so often). Gonna have to start off tender, i guess!

I'll see what I can do, but in all honesty, I doubt i'll be able to get something of decent quality. :p

Eh, as I thought, it's pretty low quality. Probably not really what you're looking for.

Try TGing Keruvalia, i'd be willing to bet that he'd be able to do it.

lol me neither

Are you a musician as well? I didn't know that. :)

What is 'Bumper music'?

Bumper music is music that radio talk show host use in between segments, or between a commerical and the show. Here's a simple diagram of how this work.

(bumper)show(bumper)

Put wheels on that, and you have a car! See how it works? :)
