The Colbert Report (or was it the Daily Show)'s take on it was better. There was some one playing Duck Hunt, and right as a duck flew to the lower left-hand corner, a guy in a hunting attire popped up and was "shot." He also said something like "oh shit."

Actually, the lawyer fellow was walking up to cheney, and cheney saw a duck behind him, and took aim.
The lawyer said "Dick, dont shoot!"
cheney said "go fuck yourself" and the rest is history.
