Am I a racist?

I was thinking before about how when I go to Philly for the day, I go shopping and get goooood chocolate. Well then I walk around the city, and when someone of a different race walks by I usually hold my bag of chocolates just a lil tighter.

I'm not a person who hates a black person because of their skin, but why do I feel the need to hold my bag tighter or switch the hand I carry it in?

So, am I a racist?

You're probably victim to the rumour colour-skins are more likely to attack white people. Either that or they thought you were taking the mick out of them with the colour of the chocolate. If it was brown of course. Why do we call people with brown skin black? I'm sure the dictionary isn't colourblind.

As society teachings on preparing scientific level in Holland told me: 'Racism is the act or thought of alternate treatment of a human based on his etnicity with no further relevant differences.' So according to the Wolters-Noordhof learning method that was racism.

little bit racist and a little bit stupid

geez if you think that some black guy is out to grab your candy but the white guy with him is harmless you are living in a dreamworld. bad people are pretty much evenly distributed throughout all human populations.

do you have the same reaction when a middle aged black man in an expensive business suit walks by you? if so you are very racist.

So, am I a racist?

A little, yes, but everyone is a little. You're probably not a dangerous racist, though, so it can be overlooked.

Genetically: Yes, but it's still a fact that more black people live in the ghetto and harsh upbringing just leads to harsh habits. It's not all nature, also nurture.

I'm 'black' by the way, two 'black' parents although I have the skincolour of a white girl who lives on the beach because she likes it 'tanned'.

No, you're not racist. It's a well-known fact that all non-whites are notorious chocolate thieves.

I think you are xenophobic, in it's literal meaning, you fear the other. But as long as you keep this under control and don't make it govern your life, and don't become an active xenohater, i think you can be excused for suffering the result of generations of societal conditioning.

How could I've missed that. Racism is the feeling that you're race is superiour. Xenophobia is fear of other races.

It just sounds like an unconscious aversion to people who appear different. It's not really your fault as long as you don't actually believe that people of different races are evil.

The English language is fairly logic-blind is why.

Well, everyone has biases implanted in them by society. I wouldn't worry about it too much. At least you're not out bombing black people's homes while listening to Ride of the Valkyries and admiring your clean-shaven head. Now that would something to worry about.

Maybe a little racist.

You're also a pussy. Who the fuck walks around with a bag of candy, worrying that some black dude is going to swipe it. Really, I'd work on that first.

You're not racist, just quaint. Like European tourists who walk everywhere in New York except Harlem, because they're afraid of the black people there.
I don't have the option of being worried about that kind of stuff, though, as I live in t3h gh3770. Thus, I regularly see black people. Walking around like regular people. They don't see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know they're black.

That's what google thinks. I only told it that I live in the Bronx, and then it decided to put the sticker representing me in the middle of a fucking lake.
I live in t3h gh3770, and don't let none of those honkies tell you different.

The white guys want your chocolate more anyway.

Now, if you had a big bag of KFC... [/comedic racism]
