Or the French are actually saying Bluntly what everyone's thinking. The US keeps saying 'might' or 'possibly' or 'supsected' France actually went out and said. "Come on people we know what's their doing really!"

Yes. Damn the french government for actually looking after the interests of its own people.

The US should spend more time cultivating a relationship with france, and less time sniffing german arse. There, I said it.

If someone else has specifically stated that Iran definately has a nuclear weapons program this is old news, if this is so, please provide a link to it.

I havent actually heard any official statements of this sort though so I think the OP just chose another occasion to bash the french for no particular reason other than he felt like it.

That's just sad. Not sad in the sense that the Greenpeace ship was blown up (it was sad, yes, but that's not the point here), but sad in the sense that somebody could lack so much brainpower.

And let me guess, they like James Blunt, Still parading about winning the hundred year war, and think Jacques Chirac is their King?
Most probably true!

*nods in agreement with most of the other posters* Yes, diplomats move in mysterious ways. Never saying what they truly mean, and couching any statements in hesitant and conditional language. eg. You or I might say 'You are lying'. A diplomat would say -

'Sometimes one is forced to consider the possibility that affairs are being conducted in a manner which, all things being considered and making all possible allowances is, not to put too fine a point on it, perhaps not entirely straightforward.'

So, for a French minister to say "No civilian nuclear program can explain the Iranian nuclear program. So it is a clandestine Iranian military nuclear program"... well... It's a very powerful statement. It's probably the most abusive statement that they could get away with without starting a war.

Most probably true!Well apparently the British like James Blunt as well considering he just got 2 Brits. Yep, they probably are, just like the Americans are still parading about winning the american war of independence. And you're probably right that they think Chirac's their king. I mean Kings are never popular and Chirac has been the most unpopular President of the Fifth Republic. ;)

I love these threads. They show me who to put on my ignore list without having to read through 20 pages of discussion.

Efficiency, what a great concept.

I'd do that, but his posts give me something to laugh at. I don't get that opportunity all that often. :p

I definitely don't see what there is to bame there. France voices clearly what other countries have so far expressed with more refined words.

France has been involved in the Iranian nuclear program issue since day 1, along with UK and Germany. Furthermore, the DGSE proved much more efficient to know other countries' warfare programs than the CIA (do I need to mention the Iraqi WMD?). European countries have proved they were clearly willing to find a diplomatic solution to the problem even when Russia's offer to enrich the uranium the Iranians needed was rebuffed.

Nobody starts a fuss when George W. Bush claims North Korea is carrying on its own nuclear program or when he blames Syria for upholding terrorism in Iraq.

I think you missed your target there: if you want to make French-bashing, there is a lot more to do with the Clémenceau.

Look dude, I love a good French bash as much as the next patriotic American, BUT, I think we have to take the opportunity to praise the French for coming out openly and saying what we as the Wesern world have been assuming all along. After all, even though America has been preaching that Iran is going after nukes, Europe has been more "lets not jump to conclusions, even if they are right".

So instead of bashing the French for something that they are doing RIGHT, why dont we take a moment to praise them for manning up and actually speaking out against an evil country's ambitions?
