So, if you're a republican VP who just shot a guy (only aflesh wound.... that put him into the ICU!), and you feel the heat and need to get your story out - who do you talke to?
How about someone who won't ask tough questions and will probably blow you on the set too?
Sure enough - Dead-eye Dick is giving his side of the story (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,184957,00.html) to Fox News' Brit Hume.
I'm sure it will a "fair and balanced" interview....
And I'm sure of that because of how Fox handled this thorny issue during their interview with former staffer Ron Christie (http://thinkprogress.org/2006/02/15/dick-cheneys-feelings)
This is a Fox News alert. The lawyer accidentally hit by Vice President Dick Cheney suffering a mild heart attack this morning. Doctors say he’s doing just fine and could be released in a week. Meanwhile, the White House press corps again beating a dead horse as it tries to find out why they were not told right away about the Vice President’s hunting accident. Not one person bothering to ask, in the meantime, how Dick Cheney’s feeling about all this. After all, he’s a human being and injuring someone else in an accident can take a huge toll. With us now someone who knows the Vice President pretty well. Ron Christie is a former Cheney advisor and author of Black in the White House. Good to have you back my friend.
Right. The VP withholds the news, won't issue any substantive press releases, won't meet the press to talk about it at all so they are still trying to work through the basics of how it happened....
..... and it's all the big bad meanie Liberal Press' fault for not asking the SHOOTER how he feels about SHOOTING A FRIEND!
How, pray tell, is this station even allowed to call itself a News station?
