Is NS your news source?

I've just realised that I rely on NS for some of my more obscure news, as well as some of the major stuff if I haven't sat down with a paper recently.

Do you use NS as a news source?

I always rely on threads by Drunk Commies for my news sources.

Yep. Hell, CNN has nothing on the posters here. NS is more reliable than even the BBC - mainly because you get sources from about a dozen different newsources - and people to debate them.

Pretty much. Mainly because I can't be bothered to watch the news on TV - since it's usually being utilised by the 360. But since I can't avoid news on the forum yeah, it's pretty much my main news source.

Hmm... I said 'pretty much' and 'main/ly' a lot there didn't I.

Most of my "obscure news" knowledge (right up there with "nowledge I wish I had neve rhad) comes from NS alright.

Coming to think of it, General also is a nice source to see what's the latest news in the US.

For anything else, NS really doesn't do all that much for me. And I'd be damn scared if it were different for me, too.

NS is really only a "news source" for me in terms of the worldwide crap that just doesn't make it onto the nightly broadcast here. However, it does give me the chance to explain away things from my slightly more-informed point of view when things come up close to home (ie the escaped convict (news that just broke last night, so probably won't even make it on here, even though CNN and FOX both had it as early as 6pm last night), the guy who died of cancer 'cause of his insurance company, the rapist/murderer who Alito allowed to live a little longer, school board changes, etc). Otherwise, no.....I rely on my media (both national and international) for coverage and my coworkers for spin.

I read the Times, it's a great paper, especially it's sub-section devoted to "worldwide crap" that never fails to hold my attention.

NS is pretty much my only news site. Especially for more obscure news I'd never hear otherwise ;)

Where else can you get more than 30 seconds for the whole thing plus a, generally, good debate over it?

Yup, I use NS as my major news source. Where else could I find out about Serbs sticking pencils in their penises?

Here. For instance, i knew bob woodruff was hurt before anyone else i knew.

granted, not exactly like it's important, but here i can berate bad aiming politicians before anyone else!

I tend to rely on NS and "t3h 1nt3rw3bz0rz" as a secondary news source, as it isn't usually quite as reliable as stuff I actually read/see on TV. (Then again, there's Fox...)

I use it with other sources. Mostly I watch CTV news, and look up the "latest headlines" that FireFox provides with the BBC. Usually that news has already been posted here, so it's nice to discuss, or just read what others have to say about it.

I like to post obscure stuff here, and I get most of my news from CNN/BBC(when i had digital cable)/Fox News. Obscure news from various sources

Bob Woodruff? His car was shot up in Iraq, man. He had nothing to do with "bad aiming politicians". Perhaps you're thinking of Harry Whittington, that guy Cheney shot.....but what do I know, I don't use NS as a news site.

In the July terror attacks in London, I didn't even hear or read about it for at least a few days other than on General. Yes, I do believe this was my sole source of news. But mainly, I just hear about things first on here, then read more about it on "validated" sources.
