Gender?
I've noticed that on the forum here, a lot of people seem to automatically refer to other posters as male. On a lot of other boards and communities I frequent, posters are assumed to be female. So... what are you all? Male, female, other?
(I'm female, by the way.)
I wonder what forum has the world record for most polls asking for poster's gender.

The only other forum I've ever posted in is probably 99% female, so yeah, this is a rather different experience...
Oh, and female.

Nah... or at least, the forum I frequent has no such forum. You establish that when you introduce yourself :p

Sorry - I'm new here!

Actually, it's not as bad, I think.
There was another thread recently, and it ended up being about 1/3 female, 2/3 male, IIRC. However, that one was specifically asking if there were any females on here (or something like that) and it brought out many new and/or lurking female posters, who for the most part aren't very visible in day-to-day operations here...

I use the term "you guys" a lot, even if I'm talking to just girls or a mix between guys and girls. This works best if you're speaking in spanish, because the word "ellos" applies to all men or a mix of both genders. I also try to assume as little as possible about the person I'm talking to, especially if it's online. You never know who is just pretending :P
