that and blood is a food sorce so they would already be some what immune to any diseases....also there is the fact that in some circles vampirers are connsiddered to not be truly alive.

i have always understood the "living-undead" thing to be a bit strange bu t ithing that it is ment to dicribe a state in which the body is neathier living nor dead

vampires are incredibly susceptible to Hiv. thats why the last vampire succumbed to it in 1986. there are no more vampires.

The dead, controlled by spirits, demons, and stuff.


That's how I interpret it to keep it from being a paradox or an oxymoron.




Edit: Zombies would be weakly animated dead, it doesn't take much to cut their ties to whatever is controlling them. Vampires are very strongly animated undead. They are controlled very efficiently, and must be killed in special ways to make their ties end.

vampires you can use a steak, sunlight, holy water, silver (in some stories), garlic (doesnt kill but inflicts pain), etc.
