I wish to comply info on the occurrence of people’s different hair weather they be straight, wavy, or curly I just am curious as to the overall percentage amongst the NS population. As for me I have straight hair.

Straight when short, very wavy when longish, and beginning to thin :(

Fo' shizzle..

It's ridiculous. Once my hair gets longer than an inch or so, it becomes unmanageable.

My hair used to be wavy, now it seems to have straightened out. It confuses me.

If people are having trouble between determing weather you are curly or wavy look to your parents own hair to determine. If one is straight and the other curly then you are wavy. Straight and wavy you can be either. Wavy and curly parents your hair either as well. Both parents either curly or straight then you will be what your parents are.

Actually, curly hair is a dominant trait, straight hair is recessive. As far as my highschool biology teacher knew, there weren't any genes for wavy hair... so I don't know how that works.

The question was asked because of this post:

Straight, but only because it is so heavy and thick and long (down past my butt). If it were cut short it would be wavy.

It's the shape of the hair that determines its' curl. If you were to cut a cross-section of hair, you'd find straight hair is a round, circular filament while curly hair is oblong. The degree of curliness is dependent on how oblong or how round the strands of your hair are.

I think the waves of copycat theme-memes that sweep the forums are so funny....for three days, all anybody can talk about is communism, next it's God or lack thereof, there's a spate of adjacent current events threads a few days later, and now we have a half a dozen personal information question-threads.

My hair is a natural sort of dark blonde with a tint of pale silver. It's almost always cut short and straight; primarily because if it's allowed to grow I will look like an aged reject from a 50s teen movie, and if allowed to grow longer, a blonde Wolverine with a bad hair day.

Straight when short, very wavy when longish, and beginning to thin :(

Mine is straight and also appears to be starting to thin...
I keep telling myself it's just the gel I use that clumps it together...
But early hair loss isn't uncommon on my mom's side of the family. :(

Hair is straight for the first couple inches, then if I let it grow past there it will curl around the front and the sides. Kind of an adaptation of the shaggy boy look. Although I just had to get my hair lobbed of for show choir.

My hair's lightly wavy. It's pretty straight until it gets past chin length, but no matter what length it is it has funky flipping character at the ends. By the time it gets to my shoulders it shows its wave.

My hair is like that, although it always looks better if I straighten it with a straightener.

For some funky reason my hair has a very set pattern to it. Assuming i start at bald, the first inch or so that grows is straight, then as the next inch grows the bottom half turns curly. Then no matter how long my hair gets the top is almost completely straight, with perhaps a hint of wavyness, and the bottom inch is a mass of curls. Even a straightening iron didnt help...

Is very confusing.

Heh, the other day I spent half the day outside in the drizzle and in the end my hair looked exactly like yours does in your pics. :D

Usually, it's straight, but not stick-straight, i.e. can be very slightly wavy.

All of the above. When it gets past about 1 cm it starts to stick out and flop over itself in every possible direction, eventually congealing into a thick mass of black strands. Needless to say, I cut it often.

I guess wavy would best describe it. It usually hangs pretty straight, but it curls away from my head at the tips. Right now that feature sort of accentuates my mullet in a not-so stylish way.

mostly straight and i try to keep it fairly short, though when i forget to get a haircut for a couple months it becomes half wavy/half curly behind my ears and above the neckline... that has to be the Celtic genes coming through. hehe
