I am almost ready to buy a Creative Zen MP3 player, but I got two questions about it.

1. Is the recharger seperate, and how do I recharge the battery?

2. Because of my hearing aid, I can't use ear phones or head sets, so do they have speakers dock like the Ipods do?

1. You can charge it using a USB cable, or a charger - which comes with it - that plugs into the electrical mains.

2. Yep (http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/ss_creative_zen_speaker_dock.html) :) (Edit: You're in the US and that's a UK site. Sorry. Here's some on ebay.com (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=creative+zen+speaker+dock&category0=)).

I had a Nomad Zen Xtra for quite some time. I loved that thing. I seem to recall that with mine, you had to have it plugged into a separate cable, especially when you plugged it into the computer. Ate batteries like no tomorrow while it was plugged in. No idea on the speaker docks.

Creative is about 1000x superior to iPods, believe me. I only have a Creative MuVo Sport, but it's seriously a lot better than iPods in all ways.

Are you getting the Zen Micro? That is what I have, but I recommned going up to a 20gb one (if possible the video one, got great reviews in PM).

But which everyone you pick, you won't regret it. The battery is easy to charge, plus you can buy extra batterys for about $40 or $50. The Creative music/video players really should have a higher share of the market, but Apple has all that advertising. Also, you can get the same accessories that the Ipod has, but for the Zen.

I'm just getting the music one, the one that has 8GB. All I need it to do is to hold a 4 hour show. Coast to Coast AM.

I myself, have a MuVo Tx. and i love it. no cables, just a AAA battery and a USB port is needed.

Had one of those, but dropping it too many times killed it. :D
Oddly, the USB bit works fine on a PC still but dies when used with player.
